Well built and sturdy. This is my 3rd Yakima set of roof racks. I have complete confidence that my storage box and contents will be safe during long road trips.

A little too complicated to put together with the clips on my X5 as they don't have the best instructions and you have to YouTube them.

These are fussy to set up if you choose to use the round bar adapters. One of the adapters would not slide over the bars due to what appeared to be a manufacturing defect/misalignment. Dylan from Yakima customer support helped me to make a decision about how to overcome the problem. I ended up forcing it on. I have used every style of Yakima rack they have made. I would rate these behind both the rail grabbers and also the old gutter mounts but well ahead of all of the bare roof Q tower iterations. I like the torque tool but since I own several of them I felt like I was paying for something I did not need. Give a quarter drive mounted ball driver or let me supply my own.

The Yakima towers are poorly designed and engineered relative to past Yakima racks I’ve owned. Cheap plastic covers that are difficult to remove and replace. Poorly engineered clamps that fall off when installing. Confusing instructions with definite errors and typos. Two pictures of good and bad installations that I cannot got the life of me tell the difference — even with a magnifying glass. Once installed, things are fine but install and removal are rated very poor.

Hard to assemble. Instructions could use some improvement. Accessing the allen on the underside that attaches the RidgeLine to the bars was almost impossible to access.

I have these on my Hyundai Tuscon and purchased this set for my son's Kia Sedona. Also had the SKS cores matched to all my current locks. Be sure the inner plate using the RidgeClip is hooked correctly at the top. It's a little tricky to see, easier to feel.

After deciphering the instructions, it worked out well.
