The idea of this dual kayak rack seemed elegant when compared to the two alternatives: Two sets of single racks, or dual-sided hullevator racks (which must hang over the sides of the roof, rather than a flush fit. Unfortunately, it doesn't work for us. It is exceedingly difficult to get 2 kayaks up on top of our BMW X5 SUV. Perhaps if you are over 6' tall, and there are two of you, it might be easier. But for us, this was an epic fail. If you have hard-shell kayaks and need to transport them, I suggest 2 sets of single kayak racks.

I would not recommend it. I find it very cumbersome to tie everything down. Takes 2-3 people, as a result we really don't use the kayaks very much because it's such a hassle. I'd recommend something (if it exists) that snaps in place (avoiding the need to tie down) and better yet with a lift.

Easy to set up, good quality and for the price compared to some other racks I don’t think you can go wrong with this set up.

Easy to install. Seems very stable even on the highway. When using 2 kayaks, it works but they perch on the arm and don't have a gully to settle into. For a Pergo 120 you definitely need two people to load it !!
