“Great coffee maker and much easier to use than an actual pour over/manual drip setup. Tastes great as well! Super pleased and excited for their new new products! Mark is super nice and they have Amazon customer service as well.”
“I was on the fence between the Ratio Six and the Technivorm Moccamaster for awhile, finally went with the Ratio and I’m really glad I did.
Pros:
* Grounds get fully saturated
* Coffee tastes great
* Easy to clean
* Brew time is quick.
* Sleek attractive design
* I like how the unit didn’t have a plastic toxic smell when I opened it up.
* Minimal plastic along hot water path, only the basket from what I can tell
Cons:
* Price
* There’s a lip around the carafe that disrupts the flow when pouring so the pour can be messy if done incorrectly.
Despite the 2 cons, still I would highly recommend....the price is worth it and the pour will be just fine if you til the carafe about 120 degrees then press the lever.”
“Using the Ratio Six along with The Brewed Coffee Compass chart, I’ve been able to dial in consistently tasty coffee much easier than before. I get a nice flat evenly extracted coffee bed every time. Besides enjoying great coffee this brewer is so nice and solid.”
“Elegant, simple, fun to use. Being a French Press coffee drinker for many years, I'm still experimenting with the coffee to water ratio with the Ratio Six. I'm also waiting for the Baratza burr coffee grinder that I ordered from you so I can more accurately factor in the coarseness of the grind. I use a scale to measure the coffee in grams. Part of the fun is that I'm setting up a truly scientific coffee laboratory so that when I do hit upon the perfect balance of water-weight-coarseness it will be repeatable. The biggest difference I notice so far is that the coffee I make in the Ratio Six stays the same in the carafe until its finished whereas the French Press coffee got too strong and bitter by the end. I'm also looking forward to using the laboratory grade paper filters I ordered from you. Don't get me wrong the coffee is good already but I suspect it can become great once I have all the tools and play around with it.”
“The Ratio Six is easy to use, consistent, and makes great coffee (if you've got good ingredients). I only make 4 "cups" at a time on the machine – which I've measured as being ~730 ml of water to take it to the 4 cup mark on the water reservoir. Right now I'm grinding 45 g of coffee to go alongside that and have been getting good results.
Interactions with the machine are generally great – it's easy to push the machine around on the counter when I need to get to the water reservoir. The separate filter basket and carafe aren't as finicky as I thought they'd be – in fact, it's a nice reminder to clean them when you have all of the pieces separated on your counter. The one-touch button start works well and keeps the interface clean. The only gripe I've occasionally had is that the water intake hole is a bit narrow when you're dispensing water into it.
Overall I'm glad that I purchased this over the Breville Precision Brewer – it's simple and looks great on the counter. Buy it now while the holiday pricing is in effect, and make sure you've got a great grinder to go alongside it!”
