“I ordered this cleanse without taking too deep a look at the ingredient proportions. Almost every drink has apple juice as a major ingredient, which explains why the drinks are extremely sweet. You’re pretty much running on a sugar high for the entire day. Next time, I will find juices that have only vegetables.”
“I'm writing this from the perspective of someone who is already a very clean eater-- if you jump into this juice fast from a place of typically eating lots of processed sugar and foods, and lots of sugary drinks, maybe you'd experience better results. Personally, this just didn't work for me. There is SO MUCH natural sugar in these juices (like 20+ grams per bottle) and even though it breaks down in your body in a healthier way, that's still an insane amount of sugar. It made me full on sick (like I thought I had strep throat, but just had a terrible cold because bacteria thrives in sugar)-- after talking to my doctor I decided to quit after three days and I switched to a vegetable broth fast (same idea, just with zero sugar). As soon as I did, my body immediately started to feel so much better. I think the bottom line is that if you are not used to processed foods/sugar, and don't drink sugary drinks to begin with, then this fast is a terrible idea and a step in the wrong direction. Personally I found the results much better when I stopped drinking juice and decided to stick to organic, no sugar/salt added veggie broths instead. Super disappointing, as this was quite a financial committment.”
