Hi there! When focusing on the idea of taking in more carbohydrates (even natural ones found in fruits and vegetables), it’s a matter of balancing your macronutrients. On a juice cleanse, you won't be taking in the regular amount of fats and protein you typically would, and so this allows your body to process more carbs— especially without the fiber. “I ordered the 5 day cleanse once before. I guess I wasn't in the right state of mind and after a day or two I stopped. Then I drank the juices here and there. This time- I've gained 20 pounds. I'm eating things I don't normally eat. I have no self control. I keep saying to myself, "self..this time we've got this. We're going back to our clean eating ways." I eat well all day- then at night i eat everything in the house. With a husband and two teen boys- not good! So this time I was determined. I'd eat what I want- but AFTER 5 days. I stuck with it Not a bite of anything for 5 days. The f first day wasn't much of a challenge. Day two was eh. I'd like to eat. Day 3. I was truly hungry and wanted to eat. This is also the day I got cold,even though it's June and in the 70s. Day 3 I wanted to eat my foot. Day one and 2 by the way I was able to keep up my normal 3 mile run. Day 3... I dragged my butt on a 3mile walk and thought I'd die. ;) Day 4..I realized I was in the homestretch. Day 5 I kept saying, "I get to eat tomorrow!" I made it and went to bed day 5 I woke up after the cleanse and really didn't care that I could eat. I hadn't made solid plans for what to eat, other than eating healthy. I decided on a smoothie. Almond milk, a tiny bit of spinach (didn't want to overdo the fiber) a small banana, and 2 T PB2. Then for lunch a small veggie omelet. I was too full to eat the rest of the day. So in the evening I snacked on 2 pcs of celery and a small amt of red pepper. Ok, I know i'm talking about after cleanse- but the reason is, it really has curbed my cravings andmade me fuller faster. I always thought I was a bulk eater. I've realized I'm not really. So I'm making my portions smaller and I'll see how that goes for me. Today was 1/2 fage FF greek, 1/2 cup granola, 1/2mango Lunch was a bowl with riced butter nut squash, a bit o chicken , 1/4 cup southwestern black beans, 1/4 avocado, 2 T salsa and 2 T cheese. it's 4:30 and I'm stil quite full- so thinking more veggie snacks tonight. (I really didn't have enough veggies today). SO As far as weight loss: Day two i woke up to losing 1.7 pounds Net day 2.8. Day 3 total 3.5 tay 4 total 4.6. Day 5 4.9. However... i lost another .3 today after going back to eating. I know one of the things people point out on a juice cleanse is you gain your weight b ack. But obviously- if you use it to "jumpstart" a nd keep eating well you can keep losing. I plan to do this cleanse again. Also considering the summer juices. Yum.”
“First time every doing anything like this and I think it’s great. Only reason I did not give it 5 stars is due to the amount sugar in them. Still in the middle of my week .., they taste great and I lost 6 lbs in 4 days so far.”
