“I was excited to get this product. We use Sand Cloud towels around the house and at the beach, and I liked the idea of the poncho for drying off quickly after a swim or just hanging out by the pool.
It arrived looking good and the fit was fine. As with anything new, I washed it first, following the care instructions. When I pulled it out to hang dry, I noticed heavy fraying around the triangle at the neck. It looked like a defect.
I reached out to customer service and was told the fraying was intentional. Supposedly, it's part of the design.
Maybe that works for some people, but for me, it’s a dealbreaker. I don’t want something I just bought to look like it’s falling apart right at the neckline. That’s not what I expect from a towel or a poncho.
Customer service helped me sort it out, but honestly, Sand Cloud should make this clear before you buy. Either mention it in the description or show it clearly in the product photos. It shouldn’t be a surprise after the first wash.”
