“Although the new tarp looks great, it is disappointing that the original lasted only 2 years. So realistically it appears that the new one will last about the same. The inventory of the better quality tarps was unavailable, but given the cost, I likely would not have bought one. As an experiment, I cut up pool noodles to cover all of the seams where the tarp rubs on the frame making the overall tarp a bit tighter. I am hoping that it will stretch my tarps life by a year or two.”

We are awfully sorry to see that you are unhappy with your cover. Please know that fabric life is affected by the application, location, and the physical elements the shelter is exposed to. If you live in an area that gets more sun exposure than most of the cover, along with exposure to other elements such as strong winds and snow, it can also affect longevity. We do offer replacement cover kits in Standard, Heavy-Duty, and Ultra-Duty material. “We love our shelterlogic tent; we live in Canada, and our car tent fits in our parking stall. It is so nice not to have to brush the snow off the car, or scrape the windows in the cold, dark mornings. It’s also nice to get into a cool car in the summer. We love it! “Convenient replacement as the original cover was damaged by wind after 4 years. Fit as expected and cheaper than a whole new kit as the frame was still in good condition. Delivery was fast and convenient.”
“I needed a temporary storage area, this unit has done well. I get about 6ft of accumulated snow where this shelter sits, and while I had to keep the snow cleared off the roof, it held up well. The snow piled up along the sides, about 8ft, to where the roof is, and the weight of the snow ended up pushing the sidewalls down and ripping the tarp where the walls change angle to make the roof. I do not consider this a fault, as that was a bigger than average winter and I didn't clear any of the snow around it. Next season I will put a tarp along the sidewalls to make sure the snow can't grip the sidewalls and rip them down. The tarp material lasted a good 2-3 years for me, and for the money, I couldn't be happier. I am extremely impressed with the durability, simplicity, and cost of this product. It has its limitations, but that is understandable given the climate I live as well as the dollars spent. Overall, no complaints!”
