“Yes, suit. My wife and I agreed I'd go with a three-piece dark navy suit, with black leather, and a black bow tie. I thought something with less shine, like this Barathea, would be suitable, and I think it was. It all worked quite well. Just be sure to get enough bow tying practice in before the big day, or your best man may have to rescue you.”

“I needed a grosgrain bow tie that was fixed to my neck size and could literally not find one anywhere until I came to Fort Belvedere. Now my tuxedo is complete! The tie looked fantastic and really pulled the whole outfit together. I felt great wearing it and was highly complimented. Hoping I can find another event to wear it too soon!”

“Pre-tied bow ties always seemed a little small and goofily padded to me (must be an interlining or something). When I was invited to a black tie event, I already knew about Fort Belvedere's products, so I knew where to look. A specifically-sized tie definitely makes a difference, for a neater, more elegant appearance and I like the size of the bow it makes when tied. If you want something slightly textured and more matte than the usual satin silk, this bow tie is for you.”

“Very nice tie. It is subtle in texture - not satin, but not coarse. Accurately sized. Ties easily. Shipped promptly. Good job. Would recommend to others. My only dissatisfaction is the label, which sticks out to one side of the tie. Easily removed, however.”

“I was looking for a new bow tie for an approaching formal dinner. The bow tie in the photo appears to have a slight texture which made it appear to be more substantial than the one I had. This is not really the case. Maybe under a microscope. Also, since it was sized, we are instructed to get our shirt size. Which I did and while my shirt fits fine, I think I would prefer to go up perhaps a half inch to make the tie a little wider when tied. It seems a little skimpy. But that may be a taste thing.”

Dear Richard, the main difference between Baratha and Satin is that it does not shine as much. It does also have more of a texture, but as you noticed, it is still a smooth fabric. Can you please share with me where we told you to go with your shirt size? We always emphasize to measure your neck and NOT use the shirt size as that can vary wildly. The interlining we chose is not stiff because those are only used for cheap pretied bow ties, but it is stiff enough so you get a nice bow tie that holds its shape.
