“I really love the tie. What's not to love? It's a custom size and pure silk so there's nothing that can compete with that. My gripe is with the labeling: The tie is made by a German company with a factory in China. I have no problem with that except that the German label is much wider than the tie in the back so the label protrudes from the width of the tie. Unacceptable. On top of that, Gentleman's Gazette puts their own label on the tie too, which is, in fact, properly sized, but it's a bit gauche that there's a label on top of a label and the bottom label is buggered up. I ended up carefully removing both labels and a I have a wonderful, custom-sized silk bow tie. I highly recommend this tie but you ought to do some housekeeping with the labeling.”

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, Randall! I'm sorry about the labeling. I'm not sure how that happened because our bow ties are handsewn but definitely not in China. Do you mind sending us pictures of it so I can pass it on to our warehouse? :)

“I was afraid to order clothing from the internet because I cannot touch or feel the garment, but I ordered a black Barathea bow tie to attend a banquet held for the best workers at my company. I had an old bow tie, but it was the cheaper hook type and didn't look so great. Bow ties of any type have poor selection even in the best clothing stores. The one from Fort Belvedere arrived right in time. When compared to the hook type one I had, I noticed that Fort Belvedere's was bigger yet more snug fitting. It looked real sharp. I do not know if I will ever by my bow ties from anywhere else. Naturally, I received praise from my co-workers on my smart-looking outfit. Thanks!”

“As my wife put it: "Sharp!". I've always shied away from self tie bow ties, but after seeing the clip on how to tie a bow tie (https://youtu.be/2I3cfa0BOOc) I decided to give it a try. I am very pleased to say the least!”

“I paid for second day air, needing a Friday arrival for a Saturday function. The tie was scheduled to arrive Friday, but on Saturday I was told it would arrive Monday. I had fedex send it back.”

“It was so incredibly difficult to find a fixed collar self tie bow tie. Very satisfied with the type of bow tie a man should use. It looks great and adds real character to an outfit. I really hope they get more fixed collar self tie bow ties.”

“Beautiful Bow Tie. Construction is excellent and a luxurious hand. Easy to tie and takes a perfect shape. Very happy and am sure it will provide years of wear with my tux.”
