“I was looking for a pair of fine leather gloves for a friend. Unfortunately the leather gloves that arrived ended up being a little too large, so I needed to buy another pair of a lower size, but the gloves themselves were beautiful in both form and color. I recommend just to be extra careful in choosing sizes especially if you are ordering from outside the nation.”

“These are without a doubt the most comfortable and good-looking gloves I have ever owned! After reading G.G. I realized my other winter gloves were getting very "tired" and added nothing to by better-dressed look. I happened to see these Fort Belvedere burgundy gloves at the right price point and quickly placed my order. I cannot be happier with the look and feel. Even the box they came in (which I'm keeping) was of the highest quality. They look especially good with my grey cashmere topcoat. Not only are they good winter driving gloves, they are also perfect for those cold wintry mornings on the train platform! Thank you Sven and Fort Belvedere for bringing us great products.”

“Admittedly, this may be partly my fault because my expectations for these gloves were so high after waiting a year (!) for Fort Belvedere to receive new stock on them and being very excited to purchase my first FB product after being a long-time GG subscriber. Nevertheless, here is my honest review, after approximately 1 week of ownership. The Pros: The gloves look great from the top, are comfortable and warm, and I have received many compliments already. The colour is a rich burgundy (perhaps not as rich as the photo on the website) and quite nice, although the gloves do appear brown depending on the inside light. The Cons: The gloves discoloured QUICKLY on the palms and bottom of fingers after only a week of wear. Be careful of this if you plan to wear them in the winter and get any snow/moisture on them. They didn't even get "wet," so to speak, but yet are already much darker on the bottoms than the top. The other issues I have are regarding the buttons and the sizing. The buttons, in my opinion, are redundant. They're difficult to 'do up' once your first hand is already gloved, and nearly impossible to take off. After only a week, I've just resorted to leaving them buttoned at all times and slipping them on and off as I would with a 'traditional closure' glove. They do look nice, however. The final issue I have is with the sizing: FB recommends to go 1/2 down from your hand measurement to ensure a snug fit, but I found that even 1/2 size is still slightly too big for me, as there is still room at the tips of all of my fingers and thumb, making the gloves slightly less comfortable to wear, and decreases their utility. I would recommend everyone to go a full size down (or just change the measuring system) to ensure a proper fit. Unfortunately, because I needed to wear the gloves in order to see how they would fit on my hands, I am now ineligible to return them. For the quality of the gloves, I believe that they are overpriced, and I had expected better from FB. I have taken pictures of my gloves (top and bottom) after 1 week of wear, but don't see where I can attach them to this review. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in seeing the pictures. Additionally, I ordered a pair of grey ones at the same time, but have yet to wear them because I know they will need to be sent back and exchanged for 1/2 size smaller. I attempted to include pictures Finally, although this is unrelated to the product itself, I had requested via e-mail that the "free boutonniare with $95+ purchase" be included in my order because the website wasn't working properly, but they neglected to include it. This was disappointing.”

Dear David, we do not delete any reviews, but there is a profanity filter, and your's got added to it., sorry about that. The color of an item you see always depends on the light your are seeing it in, we try to describe our colors under daylight 5600k. We would love to see the discoloration you mention. I have only seen this if fat or grease gets in touch with the leather, but even then, it can be washed with baby shampoo and then air dried. Sorry you find the buttons hard to do up, it is indeed not easy on the second hand, but with a little practice it should work. In regard to sizing, every hand is different. Our gloves have slightly longer fingers because many gloves have very short fingers. That being said they fit over 95% of our customers. We are happy to exchange unworn gloves until the size is right. We just cannot resell already worn gloves. We are happy to replace your grey ones, make sure to mention the bouttoniere and we add it to the order then. Once an order is placed and packed it is very difficult and costly to add an item. People take advantage of that offer every day, but maybe it did not work for you for some reason, sorry. We get the flower to you. Just let us know what you want with the return. We are also interested in seeing the discoloration you are talking about.

“My mom had been complaining about the lack of nice gloves available at stores. She made several comments on how much she liked mine. I have 3 pairs from Fort Belvedere. Since last February I have been trying to buy these gloves for here but they have been out of stock. Well finally I was able to get them for her and she loves the color and perfect fit.”
