Prior to purchasing this "Big Bundle" I called and spoke to a customer service rep about the "light freight damage." The rep told me the damage had been fixed but because it had been sold once and returned they were discounting the bundle $600. However, that was a lie. The truth was it was discounted from the normal bundle because it did not include a grapple rake and there was no discount for the freight damage. After reviewing the order invoice I noticed the grapple was missing. I called a different rep who explained that the first rep had lied and that it was discounted because of the missing attachment. He offered to sell that attachment for 50% off, or to exchange it for one of the buckets. I chose to exchange it for the 16" bucket. When the shipment arrived the attachment was sitting vertically on a pallet with the hydraulic lines exposed. The lines were damaged during shipping and it leaked profusely when I attached it to my bobcat. I called customer service and they did apologize and shipped me new hoses which did solve the problem. At that point I complained about the misleading advertising and asked for the other bucket to be shipped for free, but was denied by the sales manager who gave me some lame excuse about how their customers love them and have them on speed dial. He did offer to give me a $100 credit towards another purchase, but I have yet to see that show up anywhere. My main issue is their ad was very misleading and appeared to be a $600 savings off of the complete bundle and their customer service rep lied about it. I typically don't buy used or discounted items for this very reason and this experience has further reinforced that belief.

Other reviewers are correct, quick shipping and great customer service. Now onto the tool!! WHAT A BEAST! I purchased this to pull 6-12 inch tree stumps and trench for wires running to a new barn I'm building. This backhoe was needed for much more than I intended it for. I ended up using it to pull giant 3ftx3ft boulders out of the ground where I'm grading for the new barn. My boxblade and dozer bucket wouldnt have done anything to move these boulders. This backhoe was able to pull up at least 30 boulders (minimum 300LBS per boulder) from my ground. I would "hook" them from underneath and lift them out and then my other tractor would push them away. I bought the ripper tooth, 8 inch, and 12 inch bucket. I thought the ripper tooth would be the right tool for pulling stumps/rocks but the 8 inch is actually much better (for anyone needing this to pull stumps). The key to pulling stumps is to start out about 2-3ft away from the stump and dig up the roots in a circle. Keep digging around until until you get down 1-2 feet and then get the 8inch bucket under it until she starts moving. Same goes for the big boulders!! I could NOT do without this tool. If this thing breaks on me I'll be purchasing another. Seriously 1000% recommend to anyone considering. After a few hours at the wheel you will become and expert. By using "bucket curling/forward motion" you will get the most breakout power. Get the bucket down/under what you want to pickup and curl and move your machine forward and use downward pressure. Once you get the hang of it you can turn your little skid steer into a mean machine.

I ordered the E60 backhoe with a 12" bucket and thumb on Sunday, it shipped the next day and arrived Tues afternoon. I was using it on Wednesday to dig out rotten fence posts set in concrete, and I love it. The attachment is well built and I'm sure I'll find lots of uses for the it.

Hey Steve, The E60 is an Excellent Skid Steer Backhoe attachment. It's built (overbuilt) strong, it uses the best hydraulic cylinder that money can buy, the best hoses, hose protection, couplers and the bucket and coupler system is great! Works as advertised and does a few things I wasn't sure I could count on it for. I have two toothed buckets (8" & 22") and the grapple that I use on a 10,000 lb plus track loader. The buckets work as expected for digging although my soil is sanding and few if any rocks. The 22" also works well for pulling shrubs and trees depending on size and species (the 8" bucket's teeth line up with the thumb, leaving a gap so it isn't useful in that way). Evergreens come out easily up to several inches in diameter just by grasping them and pulling them up but even smaller oaks need to be dug out as their roots spread and are more tenacious. Surprisingly, even the grapple works well for shrub removal. Also, I have a lot of young - 12" tall and shorter - manzanita to clear and I have found that dragging the grapple along with it embedded a few inches will "rake" them out even though they are too small to grab and pull up with the backhoe but big enough to not be pulled by hand. I have pulled and carried 30' tall, 6" diameter evergreens without a problem, but then I have a pretty heavy duty machine. II have regretted not getting the E70 instead of the E60 as digging for my septic tank is deeper than the E60's reach so it's taking the extra step of bulldozing down to low enough level for the E60 to dig deep enough. Keep in mind how deep you need to go. Changing between buckets/grapple is pretty easy, although not quick. The two bolts securing the wedge that holds them on have to be run out quite a ways. Slow with a hand ratchet. I recommend a battery powered impact wrench. And, watch your fingers as the heavy accessories pivot and rotate on their round carrier easily. Now, my one complaint. This actually applies to all of the Eterra attachments I have. Basically, the top lip on the attaching plates is too short. It works fine if the attachment and your skid steer are level with each other. However, if the ground is uneven so that the "thumbs" don't engage the lip at the same time, the "thumbs" that connects first tends to slip out of the lip before the second one engages. Getting the attachment engaged takes finesse and more time than it should. An extra inch or so on that top lip would solve the problem.
