Eterra E60 Fixed Backhoe with Fixed Thumb Description This skid steer backhoe system is an Eterra original from decades ago when the company began, and it is still immensely popular to this day. Originally termed the EZ-HOE, then the EH-5000, the product evolution has produced its current name, the Eterra E60, with optimized benefits and dynamic characteristics.  Eterra has removed their original precision pins and replaced them with an exclusive ECS Backhoe Quick Exchange Coupler, resulting in a truly original and multi-functional attachment. This enables you to change out various implements with incredible ease. The various Buckets, Grapples and Accessories available for the E60 model are:
8” Trenching Bucket with 2 removable digging teeth 12” Digging Bucket with 3 removable digging teeth 16” Digging Bucket with 3 removable digging teeth 22” Digging Bucket with 3 removable digging teeth 32” Clean-Out Bucket (No digging teeth) 5-foot Mini-Lifting Boom Ripper Grapple Rake
This package comes standard with the E60 Backhoe Exchange Coupler and Thumb, 3” x 12” hydraulic cylinder, hoses and hydraulic flat face ISO ½” couplers.

Am building a house and have the E60 with an 8 and 22 in buckets and the grapple rake. Have used the buckets for trenching, digging and setting culverts and drop inlets, taking down small oaks and evergreens/digging out their roots, slope cutting along a driveway, etc. - all quite effectively. The grapple rake has turned out to work well for digging up and pulling manzanita bushes of all sizes which are a fire danger and generally annoying to have on the property. The thumb means the buckets and grapple rake all work well for lifting and carrying. The boom is long enough by itself for lifting and carrying 20 foot culverts, swinging them to one side and still fitting within a driveway. The equipment has proved reliable. The system for swapping accessories works well although the pin was difficult to remove the first time. I do have a few issues, the main one being I wish the unit could swing side to side. Having to rotate the skid steer when trenching works until you need to work from the opposite direction because of obstructions. Then you end up filling your trench with material shifted by the tracks or wheels. Rotating the machine also means taking extra time to realign the machine to the trench or hole each time. Unfortunately, units that swing, like the Bradco, are correspondingly more expensive, so the E60 is a good choice if you aren't working in confined areas. My second issue is I am working on shallow slopes a lot of the time and the lip where the backhoe's adapter plate engages the machine's adapter is short. If the E60's plate and the machine's adapter aren't level side to side with each other it takes a lot of finesse to get them connected. The lip on one side will engage but the other side won't easily. The backhoe's plate will shift as one side lifts first (it becomes kind of a two legged stool). A bigger lip would help a lot. While the E60 tends to be the better bargain, you might want to consider the E70. The reach of the E60 was just a bit short for a couple of my jobs (digging for drop inlets for culverts), leaving us to dig out the rest by hand. Keep in mind that, at full depth, the bottom of the hole will be like a bowl - you can't get a square bottom at full depth so you'll have to break out your digging bar and shovels.

I ordered an Eterra E60 backhoe attachment for my Tacheuchi TL 230 skid steer almost 3 years ago and have been absolutely 100% pleased with the attachment as well as the customer service from Skid Steer Solutions. This is probably the second review have ever done for any product that I have purchased. I have performed many projects to put this backhoe attachment through its paces and it has performed flawlessly. I would not hesitate to buy this all over again!!

The Bacot has been a tremendous asset and is very useful for digging trenches or small holes such as landscaping projects. It also helps with lifting objects onto the back of trucks or trailers.

Inexperienced residential user here... Works as expected; product quality 8/10. Most likely the best bang for your buck.
