Eterra E70 Skid Steer Backhoe Attachment Description The Eterra E70 Backhoe for skid steers flaunts one of the highest quality designs for a skid steer backhoe attachment on the market. Unlike most backhoe attachment designs, the E70 enables the operator to utilize an optional hydraulic thumb and dig 7 feet with break out power of 14,000 lbs. The E70 series of skid steer backhoes are based on an original Eterra backhoe design from 1998. This backhoe has evolved over the years, resulting in a durable and trustworthy attachment with incredibly dynamic features, offering more reach and more options available to you on the job site. The 7 foot boom gives you 7 feet of reach. Eterra has improved the relief qualities of the cylinder so there is no need for a separate valve. Movement has also been updated to better connect to the ECS quick coupler. The idea for a hydraulic thumb was conceived and developed post-Hurricane Katrina due to a demand for a backhoe with a grapple and a fixed thumb. After gathering extensive customer feedback, Eterra designed a hydraulic thumb to allow for debris and material handling. It also features remote hydraulics for powered attachments and a special quick-change coupler that allows the operator to switch out your buckets or accessories within a few minutes. The Solenoid Controlled Hydraulic Thumb and Remote Hydraulics options includes a remote output port with couplers so you can add additional hydraulic backhoe attachments for skid steer loaders to the ECS backhoe coupler that your bucket or accessory connects to.  You can expect 14,000 pounds of break-out power and a boom reach of 90" with the bucket installed on your E70 Skid Steer Backhoe. Please note the 8" bucket is recommended for use with the E40 and E60 series of backhoes. The 8" will work with the E70, but the thumb will be wider than the bucket, making digging difficult. Some customers utilize the 8" bucket in different and creative ways, so the option is still available if you have a use in mind. Why buy an Eterra E70 Skid Steer Backhoe System? Well, it is the #1 backhoe on the market for a reason. It works great and lasts, as well as being supported by a full parts department. Eterra strives to set the industry standard, demanding excellence out of their entire line of products.

this is a great add-on to my CTL and I use this more than any of my other attachments for everything!! My only complaint is that the 22" bucket is a little weak and the bottom bends fairly easily. Also, I had to replace a crushed gasket in one of the hose connections upon receipt (no big deal). All in all, a great value for the price!

Bucket is low quality, ripper teeth break with little effort, sides bend…

The tach plate has too much slop and I need to weld some shims at the bottom . probably 3/8' to 1/2'' . when I'm digging it pops out . Other than that it works great as long as I stay out of my rock pile . LOL

I really love this attachment. It has been a useful tool with the different buckets, grapple rake, ripper etc. I think the only thing that is needed to be changed is a machine specific instruction or set up guide. It took me 3 days to find a video or pdf that shows that to use the 14 pin connector, I needed to switch the ground pin to another location on the pigtail to match my machine. It is not in any of the literature provided. I found it looking at the 14 pin connector to purchase alone, it had instructions stating that for a JD that pin needed to be moved. But the equipment is and works great and I totally recommend it!

The E70 exceed my expectations. It is very capable of digging hard, dried, rocky clay soil and uprooting small trees. I was also very impressed with the grapple attachment and hydraulic thumb for removing large buried fieldstones and stacking brush with the long boom.

I know some have an issue with the way it was packaged and on delivery, but with something like this, there really isn't any other way, everything was protected, nothing was damaged during shipping, and they shipped fast! As far as the backhoe is concerned, I purchased several of the bucket, the grapple, and the ripper, and I am so happy I did. I have used the smooth bucket for cleanup, and I used several times over the course of a month the buckets with teeth. I live in the Rockie mountains and have dug in some of the hardest rockiest soil that most backhoes would only be used on, and it worked great! I love the thumb attachment, I wish it was hooked up to my machine a little differently, its kinda jumpy and may have to see if there is another way to re pin it in a different hole using one of the other buttons on the joysticks. Otherwise it has lots of power, its well built, and for the money I highly recommend it to anyone wanting one. Maybe later I can afford to get a mini x but for now, I am so grateful for getting this invaluable tool! One more thing if your digging a trench, you may never come across this issue, and maybe if you have tracks it may be different, but I have a Cat 272D2 XHP with solid rubber tires on it. If your digging a hole to repair a water hydrant or something where you have to dig deep (I got the 7ft digger) swinging the machine back and forth to dig and dump, you will make the machine dig itself into the ground, especially if the soil is soft, and you will get a big hole from the tires, and if the back hoe is up in the air, it can get a little tipsy on you rather quickly. That would be the only downside of using this piece of equipment, and other than using another machine to back drag and fill in your tire tracks, I am not real sure how to correct this. Other than that, I am very pleased with Skid Steer Solutions and this great backhoe attachment!
