New Zealand is a beautiful country to visit. The scenery is picturesque, the weather is Goldilocks (not too cold, not too hot) and the locals are very friendly. A good time had by all.

SORRY THIS REVIEW IS WAY LATE BUT WANTED TO POST IT ANYWAY. THIS WAS MY VERY FIRST TOUR WITH SMARTOURS AND I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT. THE TOURS WERE GREAT AND VERY SCENIC, MET SOME VERY NICE PEOPLE IN OUR TOUR GROUP AND MY FAVORITE THING WAS THE NIGHT SPENT WITH A FARMING FAMILY. I WAS A LITTLE APPREHENSIVE ABOUT IT BUT IT TURNED OUT TO BE ONE OF MY FAVORITE TOURS. I FAVORED NEW ZEALAND OVER AUSTRALIA ONLY BECAUSE I LOVE THE SCENIC VIEWS/COUNTRYSIDE AND THE FOOD SEEM SO MUCH MORE WHOLESOME. IN AUSTRALIA WE VISITED CITIES COMPARED TO COUNTRYSIDE IN NEW ZEALAND. THE CITIES WERE BUSTLING WITH PEOPLE AS ARE MOST BIG CITIES. SYDNEY FELT LIKE IT WAS BIGGER AND BUSIER THAN NEW YORK. I WOULDN'T HAVE MISSED THIS TRIP FOR ANYTHING, SO GLAD I GOT A CHANCE TO DO THIS WITH SMARTOURS.

We so enjoyed the trip, made special by our tour guides Adrian Oldfield (NZ) and Leonie Brooks (Oz). Both provided more info than we could retain, but they kept trying to keep us informed. They were also happy to join in some of the silly conversations a cohesive group can initiate! SmarTours' diverse choices of sites to visit were commendable, too. But the Farm Stay was superb! The King family gave authenticity to the New Zealand economy. Their food, accommodations, and conversation were delightful.

Do not make the mistake of booking with this company. I wish I hadn't. They cancelled my tour due to low participation, and I've been trying for over a month to have my deposit reimbursed. Several calls, different stories, nothing but the run around it seems. They should be reaching out to me, but instead I keep calling and hoping. There are many other companies out there to choose. I've traveled with others with no problem. Keep looking is my recommendation.

I wish I could leave a positive review about this tour and tour company, however, Smart Tours cancelled my scheduled trip due to low enrollment, and I have been trying for a month to have my deposit reimbursed. There seems to be no organization in this company. I call and get random operators and request reimbursement. I have received different information each time. Since Smart Tours cancelled the trip, I should not be suffering the aggravation of begging for my money back. Smart Tours should be reaching out to me to satisfy. I have called 3 or 4 times. Today I'm told I must email to request the reimbursement. Why wasn't I told that the first call a month ago. I've traveled with many tour companies through the years. Smart Tours with included airfare seemed too good to be true. I wish I had trusted that instinct and saved myself this trouble. I recommend anyone considering traveling with Smart Tours to consider other companies.

My husband and I recently returned from our New Zealand/Australia vacation. Although we were apprehensive, because of the present wildfire situation, we decided to proceed with the tour. SmarTours were very informative and kept us apprised of the situation which kept us assured throughout. Both guides (Adrian in New Zealand and Mark in Australia) were fantastic! They were extremely knowledgeable and interesting. They were very helpful with assisting in planning down day activities and going "over and beyond" with even the smallest details from informing the group on local transit practices to assisting in booking activities outside of those offered on the tour. The entire group we were with were wonderful and we quickly bonded which enhanced the experience that much more. We both commented that had the tour ended after our first leg (New Zealand), we still would have felt that we had received our money's worth. Thank you SmarTours!
