“First, this won’t be a thorough review – I’ve only used the helmet once – but I can give you my initial impressions. Positives: I like the design of the helmet. Bike helmets by nature are ugly things. But the Trace is sharp-looking and the matte stone/moss color combination fits my eye. The helmet fits well and the size is as described (I purchased it online). It’s light. It appears to be well made. I like the inclusion of the storage sack. The packaging/presentation was very cool. Negatives: I’d love to see more adjustability in both upper straps on each side, instead of just one. (Looking at it again, this may be possible, but it looks like a chore I’m not up for.) I’m not a fan of the drawstring/”backpack”-type closure on the storage sack. I’d prefer a standard, drawstring top closure. There’s a small, round yellow “Mips” branding on the back of the helmet. It’s confounding. And ugly. It’s not clear if it’s a sticker, or part of the helmet. I get why it’s there – but in my opinion should be either inside of the helmet or readily apparent that it’s a sticker/easily removable. Overall: I really like the helmet and I’d recommend it. If price weren’t a factor, I would have purchased the black one, but this one was $100 off, which was too good to pass up.”
“Really well built and designed. Have not have ventilation problems but have yet to test it in high heat. I really like the pads and straps. Simple, lightweight and stays on.”

“This is a fantastic helmet. The fit is perfect. It is light and comfortable and cool. But why should it be any different from any other Smith helmet. They have it dialed in.”
