The cable you purchased isn't capable of data transfer that's why you can't use it with iTunes. You can try the Statik 360 PRO which capable of data transfer and can be use with Apple Car Play and Android Auto.

“It's a pretty standard cable, can't really say that there is anything special about it as the 360˚ rotation hasn't been especially useful yet.
It doesn't seem to be capable of fast charging, even with a fast charger plug. For the price, this kind of mis-marketing isn't very acceptable, and I would not have purchased the product had this been clear.
It's basically a regular slow charging cable with a gimmick that is useful but definitely not worth the price.”
