How are the Handle and Fittings?
The perfect sword in every detail! As it is Katate-Uchi Katana it is adequate scaled down a little to fit one handed grip, point of balance and tsuka shape is on perfect. Attention to detail on menuki, fuchi and kashira and tsuba is next level for a production katana. The blade is spot on. From geometry and shape, to steel activity and polishing. Hamon work is mesmerizing, pictures will never show its real beauty. Saya has a very nice, brown colour with great ishimeji imitation, there was only one small scratch on saya, probably coming from transport, but its barely noticeable. I asked for custom Mei inscription and replacement of sageo cord for japanese rayon. Mei was done with traditional method, which gave the sword even more authentic look and soul Sageo is very solid, and long enough to tie around your obi. All in all perfect sword for that price, like i said, i did not expect that much quality! Bare in mind that this is KATATE Katana, which makes it one handed sword, and tsuka may be too small for two handed grip. It's lighter and smaller than standard katana, blade is standard length tho.

How are the Handle and Fittings?
A beautiful and nicely made katana. guard and fittings are tight and does not rattle. Design is simple and elegant. Blade is great and polished very well. The handle has a nice shaped and offers a comfortable grip, my only issue is that it does feel a little on the small side for both my hands, but I do have bigger than average hands. The handle is wrapped tightly, neat, and no bunching, great transition, and threaded through the shitodome correctly as opposed to many that are often wrong. I would appreciate the option of choosing a different material for the handle wrap because it does seem to pile or fuzz more than usual whereas silk would not. The sageo is okay, again, having an option to upgrade would also have been preferable.
