Quite happy with the sword. Not at all happy with the additional unexpected COD charges that were payable when the unit was delivered.

I purchased this during a sale event so all total it was less than $200 shipped. At that price point it's totally worth it, but I would have been pretty disappointed if I had paid regular price. The habaki is loose. And not a little loose, but it moves freely about 25mm side-to-side and front-to-back. The rest of the hilt is solid despite that. Tsuba doesn't move, seppa are unmoving as well. Tsuka has no rattle. The other issue is the tsukamaki. I can easily move the maki almost a full cm, it's that loose. The blade is great, though. Feather light and all the lines are clean. Bohi and plunge lines are symmetrical and well executed. If you're looking for a project blade where the original fittings don't matter, then it's a solid choice, just maybe wait for another sale. If I hadn't gotten this on sale, it would have been a 3-star.

Thank you for your feedback — I’m sorry to hear the items didn’t fully meet your expectations, but we’re here to help! Regarding the loose habaki, this can occasionally happen during transportation if the mekugi pin gets compressed. That’s why we included spare mekugi pins in your package — replacing it should immediately remove the rattle. Our team will send over a short video tutorial showing how to fix it in under a minute. As for the ito wrapping, your katana was ordered without hishigami, which is why the ito isn’t extremely tight. Hishigami helps stabilize the diamond pattern, and with our Hishigami Pro option the wrap feels almost bonded in place. Please feel free to contact our customer support team and we’ll make sure everything is resolved to your satisfaction!

One of the best swords out there for those who want to try cutting. Tough steel and the bohi helps immensely with reduced weight and balance (although this ultimately depends on your preference and style). The edge stays sharp and the handle is wrapped tightly to be secure and comfortable. I would recommend the hishigami for those who want durability.

I’m truly impressed with this sword. You get so much for your money! The blade looks beautiful and fits very well with the saya, no rattle at all! I also decided to purchase the hishigami pro upgrade for the ito. There’s very little movement in the ito. The wrapping is very well done. I have no problems recommending this sword to anyone. Definitely one of my favorites!

Finally able to start at my local battodo class. All the swords I had my eye on were costly and would have put a dent in my monthly budget. Since Swordis allows returns, I figured I would take a chance on this katana. So far, my teacher has approved of it (i went with full upgrades)! For comparison, the most basic one I wanted previously was double the price, so I'm very happy with how things turned out.

Using this sword for practice. It took quite a lot of research to find what sword would be good for a beginner while still being cost effective. Since this katana was within budget, I chose to add on hishigami pro for a better handle. So far, its held up quite well and I am happy with its performance.
