How's the Blade?
How are the Handle and Fittings?
I purchased this Katana after purchasing Shodow Dancers Hira Zukuri. I was so impressed with the quality, lightness, balance and the general feel of the sword, I decided to not use it for Tameshigiri. On receipt of the Shobu Zukuri, the quality and feel of the sword was just as good as the Hira Version. For Tameshigiri, I would prefer the sword to be sharper, so maybe this is an option Swordis could offer going forward. I understand with them being spring steel swords, you will not get an edge that replicates what Tamehagani achieves. I didn't want to put it on the waterstones straight away, so opted for a ceramic sharpener. As some point I would like to give it a really good sharpen, but it would be good if the swords come razor sharp for cutting. Due to the how slim this blade is, time will tell if this sword does take on any bends. Regardless, it would likely require a bad angled cut, or the sword getting stuck in the omote. All in all, for a sword in this price bracket, absolutely faultless so far, and would highly recommend, especially for someone who prefers a lighter sword for cutting practice.

I ordered this for the handguard that I thought looked pretty and it is! no complaints except for the very slight rattling when wielding the sword. easily fixed.

Ordered this to loan out to my juniors in iaido class. Compared to the other swords I have bought, this is a great value sword for those who would want an entry level model for practice, it even looks better than some of the more expensive swords I have. Quality of the sword is good and it cuts fine. The pro hishigami is very good, tight, and offers secure grip. I have noticed some minor scratches near the guard, nothing too noticeable, but perhaps from assembly.
