The only thing I would do differently is add a bohi. otherwise the sword is fantastic. Crucible steel is surprisingly tough.

Beautiful looking sword. Well executed, and fit and finish is top notch. The blade is sharp, flawless, and the polish is one of the best I’ve seen yet. The ito wrap is very tight, and the imported Japanese cotton feels nice in the hands. The fit and finish on the Tsuba is smooth, and crisp with no sharp ledges. The Fuchi & Kashira look nice, but there’s a little room for improvement on the casting quality. I opted to upgrade to the Japanese rayon Sageo, and it came well presented on the Saya. There was a little issue with the Saya binding when I received the package. I reported it to Swordis customer service and they got right on it. They are having it replaced for me, and I’m currently waiting on it to be delivered. As usual it was great working with Swordis, and their excellent customer service team. I would recommend this sword, and buying from Swordis.

How are the Handle and Fittings?
This katana is a beautiful balance of craftsmanship and practicality. The handle wrap is exceptionally tight, providing a firm and comfortable grip during use. This adds confidence, knowing the wrap won't shift or loosen over time, especially during intense practice or display. The fittings, while simple, exude an understated elegance. They don’t overshadow the overall design, but rather complement it with a minimalistic charm that will appeal to those who appreciate subtle artistry. What truly makes this katana shine is the blade polishing. Under natural daylight, the polish brings out the full beauty of the blade, highlighting the steel’s craftsmanship with a mirror-like finish that catches the eye. The blade seems almost alive with light, adding to the sword’s overall visual appeal. The only area where this katana falls slightly short is the saya (scabbard). It’s functional and well-crafted, but it could benefit from a more ornate or decorative design to match the beauty of the blade. A fancier saya would elevate the entire presentation, but as it stands, it still performs its duty adequately. Overall, this katana is a solid choice for both collectors and practitioners who appreciate a mix of function, beauty, and craftsmanship.
