How are the Handle and Fittings?
All and all this is a good blade for the price. It came sharpened but not super sharp which is good imo. All the fitting are tight after daily light usage. The hand gaurd is a bit sharp and rubbed my hand but that due to my grip.

Good quality sword, its not the best sword out there but its to be expected for the price. Its still better than most swords at a similar price point. Pros for this sword would be it being quite tough and well balanced, good edge retention because it still cuts very well after a few sessions of cutting practice. Cons would be slight rattling of the fittings and the synthetic silk sageo has slight piling. Otherwise, I would recommend this sword for any beginner looking for a good functional sword.

Ronin Katana Review: This is not the prettiest or most authentic katana but it is a work horse. I was looking for a blade that I wouldn't have to baby too much and would hold up to my beginner mistakes, and this fits the bill. I've been light cutting cardboard and pool noodles, and the edge is still razor sharp and cuts like butter. I've seen complaints about the Ito wrap being loose or unraveling on ronin katanas - but my ito wrap came really tight and hasn't loosened at all. My one big complaint is with the rest of the fittings. Out of the box, the habaki was not fit correctly to the blade. One side has a big (2-3mm) gap between the blade and habaki where dust, debris, and moisture can clearly get into and degrade the blade/tang underneath the tsuki. It also looks pretty ugly. Also out of the box, the black paint on the fuchi was peeling off, revealing these ugly copper patches. The fuchi also had a slight rattle out of the box. Lastly, the sageo is very cheap and completely unraveled on me while I was untying the presentation knot. I even knotted both ends to fix the fraying, but it still unraveled from the middle of the string lol - there were already loose strands popping out along the entire sageo when I got it. Overall the blade feels good to use, but for a brand new katana, the defective fittings are really disappointing to me. Swordis staff Review: My order went smooth so I had no contact with swordis staff. But my brother had an order delay on his Shirasaya and Swordis immediately reached out to give him the chance to change his order. He had a couple questions after that and they were very receptive to his emails. Overall I was happy to do business with Swordis and would buy from them again. Maybe just not a ronin katana next time.
