How's the Blade?
How are the Handle and Fittings?
I’m a little surprised with the lack of reviews I could find with this sword and so I decided to take a chance with buying and I’m glad I did. The fittings are beautiful with a good attention to detail. The silver and gold is nicely done and doesn’t waver off or look blotchy. I love the lotus and frog theme. The saya is a well done glossy black lacquer with no chips, dents or blemishes. The saya also fits well to the blade as well, not too tight or loose. The handle is a more of an hourglass shape and feels nice in the hand. The wrap on it is tight with mostly even diamonds and the diamonds don’t really move when pushed on so well done. One side of the handle has larger ray skin nodes and the other side uses smaller nodes. Would’ve like larger nodes but still done well and doesn’t affect the sword, just more of a cosmetic thing. The blade is straight with no rippling. The bohi also is straight without wavering off and is deep. Beautiful hamone and I really like how the powdered steel is folded. Just be warned that this type of steel seems more prone to rust than something like t-10 or 1095 so be sure to keep it well oiled. The sword is surprisingly light and very agile especially considering that this is a long blade. Overall I’m very impressed with this sword and highly recommend it.
