I had my my Rheem RTG-70 get destroyed by lighting storm and it was only 4 years old. I had one before that same model and it lasted 11 years before more it had any problems so I was happy with that! Rheem had a sale on the model when last one was ruin from the lighting and buying same model fit right in place. ( lucky me ) any way I think they are great system as long as lighting doesn’t reach them which I had surge protector installed ). As long as you fish them regular and keep vent clean they seem to work great ! Also thanks for having the sale just when I needed it. Saved me minimal $240 and as much as $350 depending what others had same model marked up to- Alan

I'm at a quandry of what to do?? About once a month or about every 15 showers the hot water stops... there is Nothing I've done to prompt it.... like about 5 minutes into the Normal Regular, Nothing Different Shower, the Hot water stops and cold water starts!!! The next time I use the shower, there is nothing amiss in it's function. I've only showered in one location that its happened in... ie. don't shower much in the other shower in the house and it never happened there. Also it takes it near 2 minutes for the water to get hot it the very beginning, but I've had that explained that there is alot of pipe footage to travel and it takes a long time.... However, the distance is not 5 foot longer than using the hot water heaters of the past that Ive ever had in this house and I've lived in for 37 years. Thanks for an explanation, or suggested action I might take to improve my experience with the Tankless Water Heater.

Hi Debbie, The first issues sounds like a classic cold water sandwich. This and the other issue with hot water taking longer than you would like to get to your main shower would both be solved by adding a recirculation pump. Recirculation pumps recirculate the water in the hot water line from previous uses that has sat and cooled. This will eliminate cold water sandwiches and provide instant hot water at each point of use. You can find the Rheem recirculation for sale here: https://www.tanklesswaterheaterdepot.com/tankless-water-heater-recirculation-pump-kits-and-accessories

Easy to mount, install and operate - I would give it 5 stars EXCEPT I am replacing an identical unit that failed after only 8 years. I was expecting a longer service life. Two adults, one kid, and infrequent guest - not a heavy usage situation.

This is our 2nd installation. Perfect for apartments with medium to low demand or small families as seen in so many one and 2 bedroom units. Plus it saves the tenant on utilities. They love the landlord even more now.

We are landlords and this was the first tankless unit we have installed. Very pleased and I am sure we will be putting another one or two in over the next 18 months. In my opinion, with the conventional water heaters going up as they have it just makes sense to go to the tankless for the benefits it offers.

You must me the technical support, because I just checked and we do not have any calls or emails from you since your order last December. That said Rheem technical support is top notch. When there is something wrong with a unit it is not properly heating water or giving an error code it gets taken care of. Rheem stands by their products. I am sorry you have had some troubles, let me make sure you have the correct phone #. It is 866-720-2076. Also, the Tankless Water Heaters do not actually make noise. They do not even have a decibel rating, but they are typically mounted right against the wall, and do vibrate when in use. This vibration is noticeable if you are right on the other side of the wall, or if you have something inside the wall rattling around, but the units themselves do make any noise. You many want to check to make sure the mounting brackets and screws are tightened down to prevent additional rattling, and that the unit is mounted to studs.
