Tentrr is your private camping experience. We connect adventurers like you with private landowners who want to share their land so you can experience new places.
“Great location and great view from the campsite. There was plenty to do around us. The biggest disappointment was the bed was not a mattress, but instead we were provided 2 air mattress and nether of them would stay inflated. That was definitely a negative impact on our trip.”
“The site is even better in person, we loved the view. The stars were glorious being remote in Maine, saw a shooter and fireflies. Tentrr is wonderful, feeling grateful for this experience.”
“The location and views of this site were breathtaking. It was a very cool setup and a perfect getaway for my girlfriend and I.
I would like to issue a warning to future campers however. DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG. I understand we were in the middle of the woods and we fully expected to encounter bugs, but in our short stay of 2 nights we pulled over 50 ticks off of our poor dog (and still counting). I would highly recommend the campsite owners spray the property with some type of solution; as this was the only thing that prevented our stay from being spectacular.
In the manual it did mention that we should have an extra tent for other guests who may accompany us, but there was not one.
The tent sits on a very beautiful deck, and is very durable and good looking. I do feel as though there should be a tarp on the floor of the tent. We felt obligated to have no lights on inside the tent because mosquitos and other bugs had easy access through the deck floor boards.
We also ran out of water that was provided to us and there was no route to the "designated water fill-up spot" that was mentioned in the site manual.
We understand that this is a new concept and we truly enjoyed the site, but there was definitely a few things that can be improved to help future campers enjoy it even more than we did.
We would definitely do this experience again and i would recommend this to a lot of my friends. Thanks for a great weekend getaway!”
“This was our second Tentrr experience. It was enjoyable but not as great as our first.
PROS: Gorgeous lake and Mountain View’s on a very private piece of land. It was easy to drive right up to the site for loading/unloading. Saw cute chipmunks and even a porcupine! Site was well equipped per Tentrr standards. Location is also perfect for exploring nearby Portland and North Conway, NH. Site owner is helpful and responsive.
CONS: The first night our air bed had some kind of slow leak. While the site manager was quick to resolve it on our second day, that first night sleeping on a slowly deflating air bed was rough. In addition, while it’s always a part of camping, the amount of mosquitoes at this location is just insane. I have about 10 bites on my body that happened THROUGH my clothes, even while applying bug spray regularly. Every time we got in or out of our vehicle there was a swarm waiting for us. We killed dozens of them inside the tent and in our vehicle each day. It really limited how much we wanted to be outside. I also had to remove a deer tick from my husband’s shoulder as well as one from my wrist. Again, we were extremely vigilant and never even hiked or did much more than hang by the tent and by the fire pit. The area just seems to be very infested with ticks and mosquitoes—at least this time of year. I didn’t feel adequately prepared for how bad it would be and probably would have chosen a different location where this is less of an issue.”
“It was a little hard to find at first but SO worth it. The site was GORGEOUS. All of the materials were in great shape. It was very clean and secluded with incredible views. I will definitely be back!”
“We just returned and have to say we had a great time! We will definitely be going back! The views were amazing. Very secluded. We took the canoe out on the lake and explored the Shawnee Peak fall festival. We have a truck and had no problem getting to the site. Everything was as expected, (I would add that the photos in general on tentrr might lead you to believe there will be bedding, there is none and you should bring your own sleeping bags etc). The stove inside the tent works very well, we were very comfortable. We look forward to our next tentrr adventure!”
“Our first time at this site, and using Tentrr overall (not our first time camping though). Overall, great experience, would do both again!
Pros: gorgeous views, private space, yet minutes away from a lot of different things to do and see. Great communication and customer service with the CampKeeper. Tent setup was complete and clean. Cot and mattress were great, VERY comfortable sleeping. LED lanterns were provided, big and small, and there was even a deck of playing cards!
Cons: couldn't pull car up to site (not in our car at least), too steep and rocky. Tough walk uphill in the dark and the rain. Firewood not seasoned, making fires a bit harder than they could have been. Lot semi-cleared (small tree stumps, etc., like it was gone over with a flail mower), so it limited the use around the site.
Again, overall it was a great experience, and I would recommend the site to anyone looking for a Maine getaway!”
