Tentrr is your private camping experience. We connect adventurers like you with private landowners who want to share their land so you can experience new places.
“The state park is beautiful don't get me wrong, but we couldn't even swim here. Beautiful clear water and not allowed to swim. Not very private, you can see the other camps through the trees. The camp site itself is well maintained, the tent was free of bugs thank goodness. Like the toilet provided too, never had a campsite that gave us a toilet like that. You can walk and see beautiful spots on the trail also.”
“Camping here was a mostly great experience. I liked the separation between each tent, and the nearby lodge and hiking trails. What I didn't like were the loud trains on the track right across the lake from the tents. Trains were going by almost every hour for the two nights I was there, and therefore I didn't get much sleep. I don't know if this is a regular occurrence, but it's something to consider.”
“It was awful. Trying to get a refund. Can’t get the stupid site to accept my email so I can try to get a refund. My god the trains were so freaking loud we couldn’t sleep. So we left. 0/10”
Hey Thomas,
I'm sorry that you've had issues with the campsite and website. We have changed all the descriptions to alert guests of trains and dam siren. If there's anything I can do to help out still please feel free to reach out to me at hbowen@tentrr.com
Thank you for your time and feedback

“Chris seems like a good guy. The site was decent. The drive to it was longer than expected, but the view of the stream and waterfalls on the way to the tents was excellent.”
“Site was good, well maintained, friendly and helpful staff (Chris). The shower doesn't really work as intended, bathroom loo too inconvenient to use. Great concept for some but not for all.”
“Train noises, get used to them at this campsite. The views, hikes, and actual campsites are great. However I would bring a wagon of some kind to carry all your stuff to your campsite. It will be quite the walk to where to actually stay. Oh, and make sure to be very careful about driving down the road to the parking lot of the campsite.”
“We had a great experience at Hawks nest! Christopher the campground manager was super nice, and helped us with carrying our stuff to the site.
Site E was about a 5 min walk to the parking lot. It was a nice site but didn’t have any grass so it got a little muddy when it rained. The trains were a little loud but it’s also fun to watch them go by and it’s part of the vibe of the park.
Highly recommend the jet boat ride that leaves from the nature center. We had the BEST time on it!
The rail trail hike is absolutely beautiful with all of the waterfalls. It’s easy and very well maintained. Great for families.
The tentrr accommodations were very nice. It was so nice to have a bed. There isn’t anywhere to hook up the shower. Unfortunately it ended up leaking all over our stuff the first night so I recommend putting it outside either way. I do wish that the “porch” with the Adirondack chairs had the canopy extending over it. It rained so we were stuck in the tent quite a bit, but stayed nice and dry in there.
Special thanks for Christopher for the hospitality. We will absolutely be back soon!”
