“from check-in to check-out, everything was super simple and our host, katy, was super friendly and accommodating. we’ll definitely book this site again in the future, regardless of the season.
we were in the area visiting family for a few days and only really using the site as a place to sleep. i lived in the area for years before more recently moving to NC, so i knew where everything was located that we’d need, but there were directions to a bunch of local spots and katy even offered to name a few if we needed anything more. she also checked up on us the second day to make sure we were still stocked up on the provided essentials which was very sweet on her part.
the first night we had stayed, it took us a little bit to figure out the heater and get it right, but once we did, it quickly heated up the entire tent on the lowest setting. and the portable loo was a life saver, as we didn’t have to walk to a bathhouse in the dark or pee in the woods.

“The place was a lot more spacious and warmer than I thought! And Katy was amazing. She let us have flexible checkout time as the next guests won’t checkin soon and sent us someone when my car battery died. There’s potty right next to where we stayed and I loved having starry sky and river view. I would bring earplugs if you are sensitive sleeper. And for beginners- tools for cooking and fire pit are necessary. It was definitely one of my great camping experiences!”
“We loved the place and really enjoyed the location and drive out there, especially in the fall. The woman who checked us in gave some great food recommendations nearby too. We were surprised by the heater charge; it’s definitely possible that we didn’t read enough before but the heater is not included in the price before November haha! It bumped up the price a bit but overall still worth the stay. We loved the view, the coziness, and the bathroom location and cleanliness.”
