“We had an amazing time! It was very easy to communicate with the camp keeper, Mark. We were running late on arrival, and Mark was more than accommodating to our changing schedule. We had an all-wheel drive Subaru Crosstrek, and upon arrival, found that it was capable of reaching the secluded campsite, but if it weren’t, Mark was willing to haul us and our belongings to the site. During the introduction, Mark offered to check in on us, if needed. We didn’t call on him, but knowing we could was comforting.
The camp site is huge and secluded. We didn’t see hummingbirds, but a lot of enchanting lightning bugs at bedtime. The pond in the pictures is cute, but not visible from the campsite.
Mark provided a lot of complimentary extras, such as extra water, both potable and non, grilling utensils, a clean outhouse, a chair for inside the tent to name a few.
We purchased a generous amount of extra firewood for our campfires, making it convenient for s’mores and morning coffee.
The first morning it poured rain, but inside the tent we were dry as can be. It actually made for a much needed, relaxing sleep-in morning.
A word of caution, take a lot of repellant. You’re in the woods. One night was very buggy. The other was not at all. As always, be extra vigilant against ticks!
The site was very secluded, but the proximity to area attractions such as Roscoe, Livingston Manor (you have to visit Brandenburg Bakery), Little Pond, etc., was great. Will definitely go back.”
