Our first camping trip. The place was wonderful. Our campkeeper was great, super friendly and takes a lot of pride in his property. The campsite is down the road from their home, a gorgeous piece of property and house. You drive in to the campsite through a dirt path, and over the creek which is fun little prep for your adventure. It's easy to do. Then you come to the campsite. The pictures on tentrr are nice, but it is even better in person. The campsite is in a large, well kept, open meadow which our dog loved running around in. There is the Esopus creek right by the meadow which is a lot of fun to walk around in and explore. I hoped to catch trout in the creek, but didn't see any. My biggest concern beforehand was bees/wasps and ticks. We didn't see either the entire time. Our dog didn't even have a tick collar and she didn't get one tick. Note: Others have said it can get cold at night and they weren't kidding! So cold! So bundle up to sleep or make sure you know how to work the stove in the tent and get it going before you go to bed. You are in the middle of the mountains so there are hiking spots and small villages to visit, like Phonecia.

We absolutely loved this location and can't wait to go back. AC and John are fabulous hosts. They were extra accommodating and thoughtful as they left organic bug spray, paper towels. firewood for the first night and other essentials that made the stay extra special. We enjoyed our conversations every time we interacted. The space was great for our 9 and 5 year old boys. It was like our own personal park. The creek is a few yards away and easily accessible through a connecting trail - very private. Their home is not that far away but not too close either. You can't see it from the campsite. You can see the road up the hill but very minor traffic so you feel like you are still all alone. We saw a deer and rabbits. At night the temperature drops so make sure to bring warm clothing/blankets. The in-tent stove helped out a lot though. For meals, we opted going into town and ate at the Phoenicia Diner and Brio's which we highly recommend especially the Chicken Alfredo. Thank you for making our first family camping trip memorable. We loved your land and genuine hospitality. Don't hesitate to book!

John + AC were nothing short of amazing! We were there for our daughter's birthday and they went to the trouble of putting up a banner and balloon which she absolutely loved. When we arrived a few hours later than expected, they were incredibly helpful in starting the fire for us and making sure that we were all settled in properly. The land itself was beautiful - a big open grassy area surrounded by trees and a creek. It was perfect for running around and exploring. You really feel like you are deep in the woods until a car drives by on the nearby road reminding you that civilization isn't too far away. This entire experience was simply wonderful and we cannot wait to go back!

John and AC were lovely hosts. They connected with us shortly before our trip and met us right away when we arrived to their property. The site is nestled in a little meadow up the road from their country home down a gravel path through the woods. Nearby is a little stream we visited twice a day with the dog for a little dip. They gave us great recommendations for food and hikes. Cell phone is scarce so come prepared or take their advice! On the last night we weathered a summer monsoon testing the integrity of the Tentrr tent and I can report it passed with flying colors. I highly recommend their site and would gladly return.

My friends and I had a fantastic weekend staying at this location in the Catskills. John and AC were so sweet and accommodating. They were very responsive in communication prior to the trip and were very welcoming when we got there. They even left a bottle of wine for us at the campsite and provided a few unexpected “extras” such as firewood, fire starter, bug spray/candles , utensils, lighters, and list of recommendations for food and activities. The property is beautiful and well taken care of with a pretty creek running through it. The location was close to a variety of hiking trails and restaurants/towns. We had a wonderful stay and definitely hope to return at some point. Thank you, John and AC!

My partner and I spent a night at Big Indian Wilderness Paradise for my birthday, and we loved it! John and AC were gracious and welcoming hosts, and we got great vibes from them as soon as they said hello. They led us to our campsite, and showed us the amenities that they added above and beyond the basic Tentrr items (paper towels, grill tongs, portapotty, salt/pepper, etc) and then left us to enjoy our stay. The camp itself is down the road from their gorgeous home. After a short drive over a small creek and through the woods, you ended up in a lovely meadow where the tent is situated. It's very private, and next to a babbling brook. It's also a few yards up from the Esopus Creek, where I spent much of the day fly fishing for beautiful wild Rainbow and Brown Trout. We caught and released a lot of juvenile wild trout! The creek is small, but pristine, and was awesome to explore. It really is a slice of paradise, and it's awesome that John and AC have decided to share it!
