“This camp site was pretty dreamy. Already looking at the calendar to see when we can go back. Super private, water view, and nice new foam mattresses in the bed.”
“The space is as described. Clean partially secluded with an ideal location. You will periodically hear activity from the boat launch, loo up the hill and the walking path but much less than being in the campground. At night its just the sounds of the trees, water and birds. I camped solo and felt completely safe. There's plenty of birch bark and twigs laying around to get your fire started with the added convenience of ice and bundles for sale at the station. The stove in the tent took more wood than anticipated on the cooler nights. It was my first go at it so I be better prepared next time. I found that a flat sheet was better than a fitted for the air mattress. The table and cabinet was useful for cookware and prep. I brought a hammock and placed it by the water. Make it a point to see the sunrise over the lake. Stunning. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I was impressed that they remembered and addressed guests by make. I hope to be back!”
“Site was as expected, felt very private and accessible at the same time. We were a little ashamed to 'glamp' but it was pretty sweet and although a bit on the expensive side of things, we fully enjoyed ourselves! Would do it again for sure. Site is easy access and tucked into the woods nicely but also near the lake and outhouses.”
“We had a lot of trouble finding the campsite. The gps location it sends you to is along S. Shore Rd when it is actually passed the ranger station within the state park off of the boat launch. The site was clean and easy to access from the boat launch. However, I was told there was room for additional tents at the site before arriving, but there was only enough room for the platform tent and chairs around the fire pit. The set up was nice and clean, the air matresses are VERY squeeky. The bathrooms (outhouse) near the campsite are off of the boat launch road down a trail and are a little far to walk at night. There are flush toilets/shower further into the state park a short drive away (2 min). Overall it was a quiet site away from other people and there werent many folks using the boat launch while we were there (evenings and mornings). I would recommend no more than 3 adults stay at this site for sake of space.”
“Private spot there is close lake access about 20 ft away but it crosses paths with the main state park trail to the boat ramp. Not a big deal, though, not that many people use the trail so you don’t see anyone. We brought two dogs who loved the getaway. The tent was clean when we got there m, definitely wouldn’t recommend more than two or three people stay in the tent, but it worked for us and our dogs. You could put another tent on the pathway at the site as well. I saw reviews about it taking a while to walk to the site but it’s really not far especially if you drive up to the walk way at the boat ramp. The park ranger was very helpful as well for directions. Had a good experience, would recommend!”
“We had a very nice stay over the holiday weekend. The listing appeared just as described. You are really paying for location — right on the water and no where near any other campsites (just near the boat ramp, which I did not mind). The Rangers were accessible and helpful. The stove in the tent was really great to have during colder or rainy nights. The air mattress did have some stains but that’s what bringing your own sheets is for! Looking forward to another trip.”
