“Awesome location - 20 feet from Rangeley Lake and private, with no other campsites nearby. You're right near the boat launch (but still tucked away and private), which is perfect if you've brought a kayak. Private bathrooms (shower + toilet) are a short drive away in the regular campground. This was like "camping lite" -- no tent to set up, a wood stove and bed frames ready to use -- which was exactly what we were looking for. Cool spot and will probably be back again.”
“really over priced for what you get. not allowed to park near the camp site have to carry everything in and the so called "beach" is a good ways away down a not so ankle friendly path overall not a great experience. planned on 2 nights stayed the one got up in the morning and took off for the white Mts camp site are only 25 dollars spent my second night down there far better experience”
“A bit of a “meh” experience that could easily be improved upon.
First, the pros:
• Check-in was easy since it’s s park w/campers checking in all day. Friendly rangers who gave us good details about the site, parking, etc.
• Good privacy for our dogs & kids
• Good lake access both from trailside tent & boat launch for swimming & our paddle boards.
Cons:
• Site was missing a lot of what was supposed to be there. There was no water carrier, no pop-up tent, no grill tools, no utensils, no fire extinguisher.
• Air mattresses are ridiculously loud on those wooden bunks. Seriously. I read a few complaints about it and didn’t take them to heart but those mattresses are ridiculous when anyone moves.
• Platform was pretty high. A step would make it much more usable/user-friendly.
• The outhouse was nearby, but should have a trail from the campsite to it to avoid having to walk all the way around the boat launch.
• Access was on excellent footpath, but supplying a courtesy cart for gear would be very helpful.
• A better food storage canister would be helpful. (Bear-proof metal)
• Although the path was great, the site was haphazard without much even ground for the table/chairs/fire pit.
All-in-all it’s hard to say that the campsite was worth the money. We expected at least what was in the description to be supplied and came away disappointed and reluctant to recommend or use a TENTRR site in the future.”
“My wife and I had such an amazing time at this site! It’s secluded away from the rest of the campground, right on the water with amazing Mountain Views and was just perfect. We went in late September so it was very cold at night, but the wood stove in the tent kept us warm and toasty all night. 10/10 would stay here again!”
“We enjoyed the location and the wood stove, but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. There was no loo as advertised and the air mattress was uncomfortable (think blow up raft). There was barely any space between the bed and the top bunk, making it difficult to get in and out. I'd rather pitch a tent next time!”
