“We went camping here with our 2 year old daughter and dog. It was our first time camping as a family and our first time in midcoast Maine. It was beautiful, quiet and VERY kid and dog friendly. The site is private, not a camp ground, which we loved. There is 900 feet of shoreline accessible from stairs off to the side of the main sites, which made us feel super comfortable with a little one because we could let her explore freely without fear of her going into the water alone. The tent is large and fit a pack n play and dog fine. It can get a bit cool at night, but we brought extra blankets and were fine. We did not use the wood stove inside the tent, but during cooler nights, you can light the wood stove in the tent and it would be super toasty. Micah met us there when we arrived at our request, but everything was setup so well it was self-explanatory. Claire and Micah have tons of extras- it is clear they put a lot of thought into everything. The first night was a bit rainy, so they had setup a tent over the table for us- so sweet. They have lots of dry firewood and solar lights everywhere. There was even a tire swing and hammock. We rented the extra lodging so we had access to electricity. However, if you had a large family or teens, this would be a great space for them, too. We loved exploring nearby beaches, lighthouses, and Rockland. This was a great first family camping experience.
