We loved our trip , the spot is secluded and has a really pretty creek running behind the tent . There were lots of local things to do like hiking and swimming that were a quick drive away. Our host was really responsive in answering our questions and helping in any way he could . We had a big thunderstorm one night and the tent stayed nice and dry. Would definitely book this site again !

We had the perfect getaway for a few days. Rich was awesome with what ever we needed. Great location next to a stream and close to the Magaup river with beautiful falls. Looking forward to the next time.

The location was beautiful and everything we wanted to escape the city in times of covid.

Everything we needed was on-site and prepped for our arrival. Richard was great about getting back to us with any info we needed. It's a nice secluded spot with no cell service. the creek was a bit dry, i assume it's seasonal and maybe a bit higher in the spring/early summer. the extra charcoal grill/box was key for cooking, and there was plenty of firewood for 6 of us to keep warm for a couple really cold nights. overall we had a great time, would definitely come back again!

Great, easy to get to location. The little creek is fun to explore (I and my twin 8 yos and my 5 yo traversed it with water shoes). There are good woods to explore as well. A giant reservoir is about a mile away where we fished. The host provided everything as expected and bit more; a very congenial chap. Would definitely visit again.

Amazing camping experience, campsite was beautifully set up, trees all around and a wonderful creek behind it. All the attractions were very close by. There was a magical waterfall right next to the Mongaup River and there was also the Mongaup river reservoir that we went to and of course the Deleware river that was thrilling as well. Richard was very nice to answer any questions that we had, so helpful. We set up the second tent that was provided and it was perfect. It was truly a great experience.

Something of a hit or miss spot. The area itself is secluded enough, but marred by nearby traffic and industrial noises which serve as a constant reminder of the society most are seeking to escape while camping. An absence of precipitation this year has also rendered the creek largely diminished and near silent, though obviously your miles may vary here depending on proximate rainfall. All in all, a relaxing spot with quick access to the Delaware River if such activities are on your agenda. The reason for the low review score is due to the host, Richard. He proved to be careless and seemingly in over his head as it regards dealing with guests. For starters, the pond shown prominently in the photos is not part of the campsite. Rather it is nearer to Richard's home and not for use, though we were invited to walk up and look at it. Not the biggest deal, but a pretty shady slice of false advertising if you are assuming (understandably) that this view will be afforded you while at the campsite proper - it will not. On arriving, Richard instructed us not to drive to the campsite at first to test whether or not we would be comfortable driving in, as others had gotten stuck. No sooner than we had agreed to this did he ride up on a quad with a tow to offer us transport for our belongings - a seemingly courteous act. Only once we'd walked the very short remaining distance to the site and asked where we could locally find some firewood and he replied "Right here!" with some logs among our items did the act's true purpose come into focus. He gave a song and dance about being the cheapest option in town while offering us about an hour or so worth of wood for $10...or whatever we had in our pockets. Humoring the man so as to be polite we tossed him a ten spot and headed into town to get what we would actually need for far cheaper. Clearly his "park and wait here" routine is contrived for this pity tip. Another shady strike, but so far we are just dealing with your typical garden variety shyster practices. While inspecting the site we noticed that the provided solar shower was torn and unable to be hung up as designed. We attempted to repair it with duct tape but ultimately resorted to holding it over one another as we bathed since our efforts were unsuccessful. Others may not have this option or feel comfortable doing the same. A point of note. On our final night we were awakened by a family of bears outside of our tent. Richard had made no mention of local bears nor was there any preparation on site for such an occurrence (no bear box or enclosed trash area). After a cub had approached the tent and ultimately scurried off we decided to just concede the land to our furry friends and head home a bit early. We collected our belongings and headed out around 4:30AM. The following morning we let Richard know what happened and suggested perhaps he invest in items which would prevent future encounters, keeping both his guests and the local wildlife safe. He replied that we should keep our eyes open and our guns loaded. A very weird and troublesome response. Later he "mistakenly" sent a text thinking it was his neighbor indicating that he would be lighting fireworks and/or shooting the ground to scare the bears off. Forgive my cynicism, but I doubt how effective this will be. Later he sent another message cryptically thanking us for the food we'd left him and claiming it to be delicious. We only realized this morning that in our dark hurry to leave this avoidably inhospitable place we'd left behind a small bag containing fruit. Again, a very bizarre response from anyone who wishes to be taken serious as a professional business practitioner. He also offered a lukewarm apology and asked for suggestions on how to handle the bear issue, from two guests he had sized up as gullible enough to fall for his firewood trick. Not a good indication that this will be taken care of competently. It's a decent space and nature is as nature does, it's inarguably a peaceful and beautiful spot. But in New York there are many of these areas offering a chance to enjoy the serenity of nature. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere safe with hosts who won't be looking to nickel-and-dime you without any regard for your comfort or safety or the safety of local wildlife.

Excellent, Better than expected! We had a relaxing time in our private little meadow serenaded by the sound of the stream right behind the tent. Also I’ve never seen so many fire flies at night which was pretty magical. Our host Rich was super friendly and prepared to help with anything we might need. Lots of great local hiking as well as spectacular kayaking and tubing on the Delaware river a short distance from the site.
