“I will absolutely be recommending to everyone! Very secluded and private with breath taking views during the day and clear night skies filled with stars at night. Our dog definitely enjoyed all the area he had to run around as well! If you are to go in the colder months make sure to bring plenty of blankets and wood, also would recommend a vehicle with AWD and higher clearance from the ground. I see us going again!”
“The view can't be beat, especially in the fall. It was gorgeous. You need to have an SUV for sure to get up there - you drive up a little beat path. The bunkbeds were air mattresses so prepare for that and bring your own bedding. Bring wood if you're planning on having a fire as well. Again, the view was absolutely gorgeous! Host was very responsive and helpful in showing where exactly we needed to go. Sent a nice local guide beforehand as well.”
“The Camp Site is really beautiful with gorgeous views both morning and night. It is very isolated for being only a short drive off the main road. I highly recommend going in a vehicle with 4 wheel drive or at least high ground clearance. I also recommend getting into town before sunset. There are several great spots to see the sunset. The site has an outdoor fire pit and table and seems like it would accommodate a small family but the tent is not as large as it looks the pictures. If you are looking for an authentic camping experience (without having to pitch the tent), this is perfect. For future renters, bring plenty of dry wood and ample kindling. It gets cold in the fall so keeping the tent wood stove going will be important. The town of Windham is very quaint with great hiking spots and some breweries not too far. I did not get to the Winery but saw one very close!”
“We had a beautiful stay. Gorgeous Mountain views and a cool property to explore. Be warned the road up the last leg is a bit sketchy. I wouldn’t do it in a sedan or minivan, but you could walk up.”
“There’s a lot to love about this campground. The site is very well maintained. The grass was mowed, and its so big that it feels like you have the whole mountain to yourself. There is a cell tower not too far away from the campground, s so I think that’s the reason why so much of the property is kept up with. The views from every part of the property are BREATHTAKING. We are avid golfers so the fact that there is a golf course right next to the property was a huge plus!!
As the previous reviews stated, you 100% need an AWD vehicle to get up to the campsite. For us, it wasn’t a big deal but the owners might want to make the road a little more accessible for others in the future.
The tent experience didn’t match up with the quality of the property. We got there and the tent was pretty dirty. One of the blow up beds was popped, but Brian was very responsive and drove a brand new one up the next day. The beds are VERY NOISEY when you are sleeping and you turn over during the night. They run up against the wooden bed frame. So with 4 people, it happens a lot. Also, there’s no roll-cage on the top bunk bed to prevent you from rolling off the air mattress. It was cold in the tent which is something that we expected and planned for, but the tent does have several holes and leaks when there’s even a little rain. It also gets dark up there. Some solar lights might be a nice addition to the campsite.
All around, I’d rate the property a 5/5 and the tent itself a 2/5. I’d definitely come back if the sleeping situation was better.”
“Great view but the tent leaks, a lot. We had pools of water building up. Very poor upkeep of the tent. We are avid campers and have our own equipment that doesn’t leak, I wish we had have had it with us.
The resort is old and dated, we tried to use the showers one of the days, no hot water.
Bonnie at the restaurant is awesome and that’s the best part of it. The view is great and we made it through one night of rain and had to leave a night early as our bedding and luggage got wet. Not great.
I wouldn’t go if there’s a risk of rain, which given it’s a mainly ski town, it does regularly.”
“The location is beautiful, although as others have mentioned you're going to have to haul your things up a pretty steep hill to get to the site. Despite reading the reviews, I was still pretty shocked to see the "road"-- it's really not a road at all, it's grass most of the way and full of rocks. Even with 4 wheel drive I'd hesitate to drive up it with how steep it is and slippery it could be if there were any amount of rain. We were a little confused getting to the site, there's no signage that points to it at all, but that did add to the secluded feel it had. The tentrr amenities were fine, but more like standard camping than the "glamping" they might make it out to be. We didn't really need to contact Brian for anything except initial directions, but he responded quickly and was helpful with helping us find the site.”
“We arrived in the dark and were blown away from the morning view! 4x4 vehicles are a must to climb the hill otherwise it’s a short hike. Would recommend and would stay again.”
