“Our visit was great. Everything was there that we needed to enjoy the 4th of July in our own way. As someone else mentioned, there were a good amount of gunshots in the distance but nothing too bad and it wasn't for very long. We had a couple very large eight-legged friends in the tent in the morning but that is to be expected, just a thought for some. Thanks again for the perfect spot, we'll be back soon!”
“This was a very beautiful location and we love the concept but there are some major issues at this site.
1. The queen bunk bed was in a state of dangerous disrepair and extremely unstable. The central beam that is the main support structure for the top bunk has a large crack running most of the way and some of the triangular wooden joints connecting the top bunk were so loose they were barely hanging on. Bring sleeping bags, tarp and tent mats to use with the extra tent included in case the issue isn't fixed.
2. There is no camp stove (the ad mentioned a stove but there were no stoves of any kind) so food would have to be cooked over a campfire (they have a few grill grates for the fire pit)
3. We also found a plastic bag with feces (left by what I guess was a previous occupant) in very close proximity to the tent and the makeshift toilet. We hope future campers are more courteous and management ensures campsite cleanliness prior to receiving new guests.
4. The toilet is very rudimentary as advertised (you have a plastic bag in a small pop up stall). We suggest trying to go to the town about 15 - 20 mintures away before going to the camp if the toileting situation bugs you as well. The solar shower water did not appear too clean, with wood and dirt pieces inside. The cart for transporting items to the tent had a big hole on the bottom (hopefully it gets fixed soon). We loved the hammock and walking around the pine forest. I don't typically leave negative reviews but it needed to be said. We sincerely hope these issues are addressed so more people can enjoy this beautiful piece of pine forest.”
Hey Malithi, thank you for your feedback here. Without honest reviews like yours, we wouldn't know where to improve. Since your review, we've gotten in contact with the host. She has taken some time to give the site some TLC and address the concerns that you mentioned in your review. We sincerely apologize for the less-than-ideal stay you had at this site, however, we appreciate the feedback with ideas on out to improve. We hope this one experience didn't put a bad taste in your mouth for all things camping and hope to see you out exploring nature soon!
Cheers!
The Tentrr Team
“Beautiful site!! Absolutely lovely area, great set up that feels very remote. Hosts were very nice, provided everything required.
Watch for a creaky bunk bed though!!”
