“We had a wonderful stay at Neversite Sanctuary, thanks to a number of reasons.
1) The host, Desmond, and his family were very warm and accommodating. When we arrived, Desmond helped us bring our belongings to the campsite in a Gator truck. He showed us around the campsite and explained where things are and how things work (very helpful for first time campers like us).
2) The campsite has all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. A few added touches, like the detached bathroom shed (which comes with a little sink with running water), the grill, a cabinet filled with basic kitchen stuff, and WiFi connection were very useful.
3) The location: nestled in a quiet spot between the main road / house of the host and the idyllic Neversink River, this site is isolated enough for a quiet camping experience, while remaining accessible. You could see that Desmond put his heart into developing this site, from the way it was laid out, to the little details that add to the practicality and aesthetics of the place. Furthermore, Woodbourne is a short drive to many hiking trails and small, charming towns with cozy cafes and restaurants.
All in all, it was an incredible overnight experience. We could only say good things about the place and the hosts, and look forward to our next visit.”

“Felt pretty secluded even though we were behind the house on shared property. Such a sweet set up Desmond's created. Grocery store nearby for a food run, made this a low effort excursion thanks to the checklist provided by the host.”

“My husband, two kids (5 & 2 years), and my father-in-law just got back from an incredible stay at Neversink Sanctuary. The camp area was beautiful and right on the river. Desmond designed and created the area himself and you can see all the love and effort that he put into the space. We used both the tentrr tent as well as the extra smaller tent. Everything was clean and in great condition. It was a nice touch that the toilet was in a separate area outside the tent. Des and Tracy were super accommodating and thoughtful. They provided great extras such as yard games, tubes, pots & pans, and even coffee mugs! They greeted us after we parked the car and gave us a ride in their mule down to the site (the tractor ride was our 2 year old's favorite part of the trip) and made everything easy. They are incredible hosts and we would love to come back again!”
“I am tempted to write a lukewarm review so that you never visit and I can keep this hidden gem all to myself. But being the generous soul that I am, here's the truth: This place is outright amazing. Though not as isolated as other campsites on Tentrr, this location and facilities are the absolute best. Just feet from a clear, refreshing river the camp has a fire pit, games, hammock, kayak, floaters, benches, and even a freaking almost-hotel-calibre bathroom. Site is perfect for kids (our 7 month-old roamed free and wasn't even snatched by the resident family of bald eagles) and people who want the most 5-star camping experience near NY. Finally, Desmond is a rockstar and deserves recognition for the kickass site he's built.”
