“good experience, the tent we stayed in had a bit of mildew from wear and tear of environment it caused me to have a headache, otherwise Howard was pleasant to speak with and made sure we had all essentials other then what was listed on reservation to bring. Would definitely return but stay in one of the cabins as result of the mildew in tents tent.”
“My review is a little delayed - but we had an excellent time at the property. Everything was as described. The fall foliage made it spectacular, the hiking was great. Sadly we are directionally challenged and we never found the waterfall, but strolling through a beautiful golden, autumn colored forest more than made up for it. Our host was always available, sold us a bunch of firewood, bathrooms were sparkling clean.”
“I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. The campsite looked as advertised. The campkeeper was accessible through text and was able to answer all of my questions. He sold me fresh eggs from his chickens to cook for breakfast! The campsite was well taken care of, although the last campers left cigarette butts and broke the grill. There are pots, pans, marshmallow skewers, plates and utensils, and basically anything you’d need to cook and eat a fantastic meal. He even provided paper towels which was incredibly helpful! There were lovely string lights and a hammock. It poured on my second night and I was worried about the tent but everything was fine! I wish the path to the campsite was better taken care of and a bit flatter for cars. There was cell phone service for anyone who’s worried! I would definitely return here. It was a great location and a nice quiet, peaceful place to getaway for a few days.”
“A nice secluded spot. Very convenient for brunch in Woodstock when you want to go into town and of course all the amazing hiking around. Howard was great and super flexible- we had a lovely time!”
“Plenty of Forest wood for fire, Paid extra for built bathroom/shower but we never used it for our weekend getaway. Howard is nice, Semi private property, Got lost for two hours in the woods looking for the waterfall. Canvas tent 100% needs to be replaced, wouldnt want to get caught in bad weather with the holes and tarp..slept with 100 stink bugs at night. The camp area is surrounded by acorn trees that pelt you with nuts at 80mph lol it was funny when it hit my family members, luckily i got out unscathed. Not bad for the price but I prefer a more leveled site where im not tripping on buried stones in the dark.”
“The tent and surrounding campground were spacious and private. You can occasionally hear neighbors in the distance or the nearby road, but it is still quite secluded. Everything was clean, comfortable and accurate, just don't have the unrealistic expectations of the gleaming stock photos used in the ad, this is camping in the woods after all. The owner was super friendly and sold us firewood after we ran out. There is a nice gorge and waterfall area within a 45 min hike from the site. There's no trail, but follow the base of the mountain from the backside of the campground to a large clearing in front of the bluestone preserve. Follow the creek up into the preserve from there.”
“Exactly what we were looking for! A private glamping experience upstate with our dog. Away from the roads, so you only hear the sounds of the woods. We had fires in the firepit every night.”
