Tentrr is your private camping experience. We connect adventurers like you with private landowners who want to share their land so you can experience new places.
“This site is wonderful, and right on the water. The host is responsive and checks in throughout the stay via text. Tentrr provides plenty of water to drink and rinse dishes for two days, some cooking utensils, a propane grill, a canvas tent with a wood burning stove and clean sheets and a blanket and electricity, a separate tent with a toilet in it (“tent loo”), and ample surfaces and seating for 3 people. A few notes: (a) the grill is not a replacement for a camp stove, it will take ages to boil water in a kettle, (b) watch out for spiders in the tent loo, (c) bring cups, (d) you may need to buy some dry firewood, ours was a little too wet too use, but there are plenty of nearby stores selling it for very cheap.”
“The most magical camping experience! Thomas was such a pleasure to coordinate with, and our entire party…including our 6mo old…had a wonderful time exploring, playing the guitar by the fire and cooking delicious meals right by the river. The Barryville Market down the road is a must to grab some local foods and enjoy some live music! We will definitely be back!”
“Ok so just bring food... The site is set up with a cast iron pan, plates, cups, forks, a wash basin, a water jug, a big table, chairs, grilling tongs, i think there was a propane stove too!
The site is tucked away just off the road, across the road is a big firewood pile, just leave some money and grab some wood if no one is around. The neighbor camp site is far away and you have complete privacy. You can hear/slightly see some cars passing at night, but it's nothing major and did not bother us at all.
The site is as described, at the edge of a canal, there's a drop down of about 10 feet leading to the river. We were worried our pup would fall down but she figured out how to traverse up and down so it's not a crazy edge. Maybe not the best place for smaller kids that you don't want to always keep track of. There is a walk way to get right down to the river right by the site and you can set up some chairs and soak in the river.
Overall this site is perfect for an easy get away (seriously just bring food... they have EVERYTHING there) and waking up to water views is wonderful.
If you are going during the colder months, bring your self one or two duralogs. It took us a bit to dial the camp stove from omg it's so hot to, oh no its cold. Slow and steady low air flow did the job, and the duralogs help to keep the fire going for 3-6 hours. I cut the duralog in half, put it in with two larger logs, set it on a low simmer and away to bed.
Cooking breakfast on the stove in the morning is awesome!
The tent is put together really well, OH and there's electric...
So yea.. we will be back.”
“Great spot. Good water access to go in for a swim. Close to raft and canoe rentals, w/a small general store a couple minutes away. Good communication, attentive host.”
“We very much enjoyed our weekend at Rivers edge canal site, May28-30, 2021! Although it was raining when we arrived, the site was clean and easily accessible. We were pleaantly surprised of the Bald Eagle presence in Pond Eddy. There was a nest right across the Delaware from the camp site!! Will visit again!”
