“If you are looking to use tenttr Captain max and occanum creek is absolutely where you want to go. Captain max is a great guy, super friendly, caring and knowledgeable. Any questions or concerns we had were met with immediate response in person and over the phone. I have now stayed with him twice and he has personally greeted our group both times and periodically checked in on us to make sure we were having a good time. He has always made sure the site was in tip top shape and ready to go for us to come and enjoy ourselves. If i could give more than 5 stars I absolutely would. His property itself is stunning. The woods surrounding our campsite is thick and green so we really get a backcountry feel when we are there. If you have 4wd you can drive right up to the site and there is plenty of space to setup extra tents and park your vehicles. If you dint have 4wd you can park at the bottom of the hill and he has a wagon to help bring your gear to the site. The other part of his property is a beautiful field with a nice sized lake. He has a T dock with Adirondack chairs so you can relax and enjoy the view or do some fishing if youd like. He has a rowboat and a canoe that he gave us free rain to enjoy. Max really does a fantastic job at making you feel comfortable. He has many amenities that alot of other tentrrs do not have. I will absolutely be booking with Captain max in the future and I recommend everyone else do the same!”
“What a wonderful site! Captain Max is without a doubt one of the nicest hosts you could imagine. My wife, two dogs, and I just spent 5 days up on the hill at his Occanum Creek property and simply had the best time. 60+ acres to explore and hike, a creek on the backside of the hill, and a lake on the front side. What more could you ask for?
The tent was in great condition, the mattress was very comfortable, and the kitchen & fire pit were put to good use.
I recommend this site and trip to anyone who is interested in waking up to nature, stargazing at night, fishing & hiking throughout the day, and getting away from the rest of the world for a few days.
