“We stayed here in order to visit the Watkins Glens State park from NYC. We really enjoyed our stay at this location! We saw a variety of wild life near the tent, deer, birds, frogs, even a bear! The animals always keep their distance of course. The host Max is very helpful and super nice! Definitely recommend!”
“What a great camping experience made even better by the awesome hospitality of our landowner host, Captain Max. The tent/sleeping accommodations were clean and very comfortable! We had a few heavy thunder storms our first night and not a drop of water inside. The site is shaded and very private. Max was available if needed and extremely accommodating. We had a warm welcome upon arrival and showed us right to our site. We definitely made a new friend! The lake is clean and beautiful! There’s a store close by for firewood, ice and anything you didn’t pack. Also an ice cream stand and Dollar General. Downtown Binghamton is a convenient 10 -15 minutes away! We will definitely be back! Don’t hesitate to book this beautiful campsite! You won’t regret it!”
“Captain Max was a great host. His communication and help was excellent. He gave privacy when wanted and was available for a walk through the property and helpful local information! Such a great experience!”

“Visited Captain Max’s gorgeous Occanum Creek site with our two young boys. It was absolutely amazing! Beautiful terrain for hiking and exploring, a nearby lake perfect for fishing (bass/blue gill) and utilizing the on-site canoe. Unforgettable memories were made and Max was a wonderful host. We will definitely return.”
