“I have owned the Pan for 7 years now and it turned 25 this year! 60,000 on the clock and it has no signs of age - apart from not being as sprightly as some of the newer models perhaps. It's heavy to move when stationary but has good poise when driven, perhaps getting a little too large for daily use. An excellent bike for pillion, especially with the top box fitted. The panniers and top box take a huge amount of filling if you want to use this properly for touring. Recently the carbs were treated to an ultrasonic bath as I foolishly leave it standing over winter with fuel in the system.”
“Like most people, they prefer the 1100 to its successor the 1300. They are good for long or short journeys. A day out or a week touring Europe. Most parts are cheap enough and easy to fix yourself. Mines 25 yrs old and never misses a beat!”
“Regarding my Honda pan European st1100. the reason I bought the bike in the first place is it's reliability and good fuel economy and it's comfort on short or long rides ask anybody who has owned one and they will all say the same, I know a couple of police bike riders and they all say the same why don't Honda make another bike the same. forget about the 1300. hope that this review is ok . all I can say to anybody who reads this is Ride safe back safe take care out there.. :-)”
“I had a 1500 Goldwing before the ST 1100 but it got used less and less as it was too big for short trips so I got the ST which is faster and more economical with better handling &a ground clearance. I fitted an Autocom so I can speak clearly to my wife & listen to music etc so it is better for us than the wing. It's so comfortable and I rode from Belgium to home in Crewe Cheshire in one day with no fatigue or cramp problems on this super comfy & economical bike. The fairing and screen are fantastic and its ultra reliable! I would recommend one to anybody who rides more than 20 miles as it can't be beaten at what it was made for...a super reliable and comfy tourer and mile muncher!”
