hadthe bike 14 years got it when it had 9000 mls on the clock and im the 3rd owner, used i for work everyday winter and summer except for two exceptional bad winters for 11 yrs.the abs stopped working about 8 yrs ago and never bothered fixing it as i was quoted 1000 quid for repair.the brakes are ok withoutthe abs and it does not affect the mot, still passes ok.the thing that doesnt work on the brake side isthe secondary master cylinder which i will have a look at in the near future.i did raise the handlebars with raisers 2 inches without changes to the brake pipes.also had a off market wind screen fitted but this all dependss on your personal needs.the bike does everything i want it to do,so will be keeping it till i retire from m/cycling probably in the next 10 years.

What can I say, I bought the pan after agonising whether to spend 15k on a new RT1200. If I had spent the extra 12.5k over and above the pan I wouldn't have had the bike all year because of the recall. The pan does everything we'll, hasn't missed a beat but isn't perfect. The brakes show their design age and the seat will probably be swapped for a gel one. If you've got 2 to 3 k to spend on a tourer buy a pan.
