superb machine with 1 drawback..very slow turning requires skill as the weight will pull it over. Spread and fix old inner tube across the back of rear wheel and tie to s/arm..stops water rotting s/arm and saves alternator

Bought second hand with 23,000 miles on the clock ours was one of the last ST1100's and proved to be a great long distance tourer and two up there was nothing better. This bike was written off by an inattentive young driver and after a good deal of searching we found another midnight blue 2001 bike which has been equally delightful. Though it is heavy once on the move it is effortless to ride and with great insulation from potholes and wind noise (it has an MRA after-market screen) we have regularly ridden back from Scotland some 425 miles in a day. It can be ridden very rapidly if requied and give a great feeling of secuity and sure-footedness.

Best bike I found on the market. Being lighter than the Pan European and much more useable generally. I,m really glad to NOT have chosen the Pan European model I was considering. Also the insurance is cheaper and more miles per gallon as well. I have had no problems of any sort and consider my final choice was right for me and possibly any other rider considering a change or purchase of a bike.

I bought my bike last year and it's 15 yes old. I rode it to the south of France and back, over a 5 day period this October. The bike didn't miss a beat. The only change I would make is to adjust the position of the handle bars overall 10/10.

In 14 years of ownership, the only problems encountered required the replacement of exhaust pipes, from engine to silencers, and the mercury switch. Otherwise it has proven to have the quality of build that Honda provides, good performance and decent - fuel - economy. It will be a sad day when age dictates I must part with my Pan European.
