Neutral handling, reasonably comfortable and a fantastic V4 engine. The brakes could be better but it is 20 years old. Sounds amazing with a lovely burbling tone at lower revs and more of a higher pitched yowl when revved harder. Linear power delivery, the HONDA V4 is a gem.

The VFR has all the performance required for commuting as well as distance touring. Longevity is the word for this bike. With nearly 100000 miles on the clock, other than the usual consumables, it just keeps going.

i got a 96 and am really impressed with her. i intended to keep the bike for ages so replaced the exhaust system for s/s system because of a rotten collector box and a hyperpro shock because original had spent. i knew about the probs before i bought her. the bike is sheer bliss now. a keeper. everything else is fantastic though.......do anything bike. regulator/recs can be a problem but some guys carry a spare under the seat as a spare to plug in. run for ever with regular oil/filter changes.

The fact that I've had this VFR for 16 years out of its 25 year life, should tell you I love it. Its done 90,000 miles and has more to go. It feels as if all it needs is petrol, oil, tyres, but over 16 years I've replaced the reg/rectifier about 4 times and the the rear shock once. The original exhaust rotted out and now the bike has a stainless steel unit. Its a well balanced, easy to ride, swift and comfortable bike, the handling inspires confidence. Both the bike and I are getting on, I suspect I will give up first!
