“I have a full licence so I bought this bike as a cheap run around to commute to work on. I did intend to get an older "hack" so wouldn't be so worried about parking it in Bristol etc. I found an incredible deal on a newer 2012 one in great condition and only 1300 miles or so.
The bike is brilliant overall, it does 120-130 miles to the gallon even when hard on the throttle (which you have to be a little bit). It rides a bit like a mountain bike as it is so light, you have to be very careful with rear break otherwise you end up snaking all over the place if you emergency stop too hard with it (I found this particularly coming from a 1000 bike before hand). It is reliable and has never missed a beat as well. It is a little uncomfortable however - it does hurt my nether regions on trips of around 45 minutes to an hour but a gel seat did help with this.”
“I left this bike in my garage for almost a year while I was away. Booted it back up without even a flat battery. It'll do 70 on a good day if you stay off the pies, or down hill if you stay on them. For a 125 commuter or a first bike, this thing looks great, rides great and is built rock solid. I've replaced the chain once after keeping it outside but covered - but if you can keep it in doors it'll last absolutely years. Some users have complained about rusty exhausts- but that's a given on these cheapish small bikes.”
