“Pros: great board for small flow waves , relatively in expensive to get started.Cons: foot pad started to peel off after first day ridingWould buy again”
“Bought this for my 12 year old who is learning to surf. He loves it! It's stable in the water, has a simple retro design and lightweight. It did come damaged, but customer service offered a discount, which we were pleased with. The design is starting to wear already after just a few times, but he likes the surf board enough and doesn't care about that. All in all, great beginner board!”
“If you are searching for a inexpensive great board this is it. Don't waste your time with the wave storm. The three stringers give this board strength and stability, it doesn't buckle like a taco, like some other foamies. This also makes it very stable when standing. I was concerned with the float of the board. I am 5' 8" and 170 lbs. This board paddles like a champ. The second time I used the board I ran it in the sand and apparently I had not torqued the plastic bolt enough and lost the bolt. I emailed the company and they sent me a full new fin set. I only needed a bolt. How's that for excellent customer service. This is a great buy for experienced surfers and beginners alike.Kudos to thurso.”
“I had a couple screws come loose and I lost them in the ocean. The company had no problem replacing them for me so I am very thankful for that. Awesome board for a beginner with good customer service.”
“It's been about a week of using this and I love it. The first time I got on I knew it was made for me. I was using my friends 8' wave storm and just couldn't get a good wave. This 7' board is perfect. I love how it rides and couldn't ask for anything better.”
“Personally I like a good looking board as well as a well functioning board and this does both! Easy set up. This is a perfect beginner board for those learning to surf; the buoyancy allows the board to float really well making it easy to learn to surf. The boards with higher buoyancy make it easier to catch waves. The board is very light as well! Typically the bigger boards are heavy and hard to carry, however this is not the case with this one :). I'm able to carry it about a quarter of a mile with ease. Works and functions better than I expected! 10/10.”
“I learned on a 10' long board which is great if you have a slow, gentle break but trying to teach my kids in shorebreak with a massive board was an exercise in frustration (endless nosedives, tough to paddle/swing the board around). This board strikes a very good balance--wide/buoyant enough to be pretty stable for the kids but not so big/heavy to be unwieldy in the surf. Also sturdy enough for me to catch a few waves even though I'm pushing the weight limit a bit. Will update this RE: durabililty once we've had it a while but overall the workmanship seems quite good, the board was shrink wrapped and double boxed which was nice to see.My only minor complaint was the setup with the fin screws could have been better documented, two of the screws are longer and it took be a bit to figure out where they needed to go: the two longer ones go on the top (closer to the nose) of each of the thruster (side) fins. Since the board is a bit thicker in those locations they need the extra depth--the short ones go everywhere else. All in all, I'm psyched!”
