“The product is described as "sake you can count on" and I totally agree. This is a very approachable and easy to drink junmai; I preferred it chilled a bit but also fine as it warmed up to room temp. The tasting notes above say "sweet rice" and that's a good description (lightly sweet definitely not cloying), it's got a light umami quality here that I prefer. I am partial to other Hakutsuru products, particularly the delightful “Shoun” daiginjo, so I was not surprised that this junmai was to my liking. So do not be put off by the low price if that's a factor, this is a nice solid performing junmai at an almost everyday price. Definitely give it a try if you are exploring!”
