“As nigori go this is relatively clear. It isn't especially dry nor is it particularly sweet but it is does have a pleasant tartness. Nigori is my favorite style of sake, but this has a smell reminiscent of a much higher proof spirit that masks any sweeter pear-like notes, and it is "warming" all the way down like a spirit too. I thought perhaps it was fortified or something but it is labelled as a junmai so I don't know. It may be to someone's liking but this one was definitely a miss for me.”
“Complex in the mouth, sweet impression with lots of grip keeping it easy and refreshing. A fresh liveliness reminiscent of nama. Amazing and delicious.”
“I really enjoyed this sake, even though I usually do not enjoy nigori as much as other types. However, this bottle was very nice when I had it chilled on its own and with chicken. It has notes of vanilla bean, pear, and maybe some mint on the finish. When I want to enjoy nigori again I will be ordering another bottle of this.”
“This was an alternative recommendation for me as part of the new sake club and I am glad I tried it. While some sake can taste sweet almost like fruit juice, this I found to have a softer sweetness more like a pudding or maybe even a sweeter style bread. It was pleasant and I enjoyed experiencing this nigori. While it was delicious, and I would recommend others try it, for me, I felt it was missing that something special that would make this offering a full five stars.”
