“Definitely get the brown sugar but more like an overripe honey dew melon than peach to me. Quite dry, the flavor kind of punched us in the face and quite dry, definitely a 17%-er (abv) lovely bottle but probably wouldn’t get again. It does mellow out more with every sip but was not expecting the initial sip to be so strong. If you like sweeter and drier sake, GO FOR IT! But it’s not quite for me.”
“This sake is wonderful! It leans on the dry side but is balanced perfectly. It has a sweet, fruity nose and some white florals like honeysuckle as well.
On the palate it’s clean and crisp with a slight bite to the tongue. A nice bit of texture without being too overpowering as well. Some minerality and hints of melon rind. I also got some rich, creaminess like yogurt or oatmeal lingering in the finish.
Overall super refreshing and delicious! Would pair this with spicy tuna or something fatty like yellowtail belly or salmon sashimi.”
