“I really enjoyed this one at cold temp with fried oysters as part of a bento box. The mineral taste and umami flavors complemented the meal very well. There was also a pear note in the finish. It had a nice dry finish and feel to it that made it one of the more memorable ones from my box.”
“Really enjoyed this sake at room temperature with some sushi. It had a nice, earthy profile, that was easy to drink with a clean finish. Will definitely be picking up another bottle in the future.”
“I enjoyed this sake chilled. It had a crisp, dry, taste. I also thought it had an earthy depth that included what I would describe as a hint of peppercorn. It was a nice contrast to the typically sweeter sakes I have tried.”
“Sometimes you want something sweet, right? Fine. But other times you may want to go dry. Dry is good
especially when serving a meal where you don’t want the brew to compete with the food. A drink that compliments or even enhances the subtle flavors of the main dishes my be your best choice. Well, Suijin with it’s dry palate is something to consider when you are looking for a premium sake to pair with sushi, salads, pasta (日本酒度 +10.). Then after dinner go sweet or aged 古酒 or whatever. Highly recommended. Have fun, sake lovers. Kanpai 乾杯”
“The nihonshudo 日本酒度 SMV (sake meter value) on this brew is +10.
With +2 being average, midway between sweet and dry, this number would imply a “dry” sake. (The higher the dryer.) So this sake should be very drinkable for those folk who prefer this style. I find it a pleasant sake to enjoy with food for that very reason. It is meant to compliment food not overpower it.
Give this one a try; enjoy the dry.”
