“This is a nama 生酒 unpasteurized, genshu 原酒 undiluted (18.5% ABV) brew. It is also a ginjo, 精米歩合 rice polishing rate of 58%. It is not listed as a junmai 純米, so I assume that some brewer’s alcohol has been added. Nice sando 酸度 acidity. Serve this baby chilled and enjoy the smooth, viscous, almost creamy slippery taste of this delightful saké.
Keep it refrigerated and drink while still young/fresh. This wonderful, unique premium saké will light up any party. Kanpai 乾杯”
“Loved this sake! It is what I would describe as "exuberant" - fruity, big-boned and aromatic, with a lively, acidic intensity, it has a remarkable flavor profile. It paired extremely well with both sushi and Chinese food. Would definitely order again.”
“I’ve had the privilege of being able to drink a lot of sakes. Most are very good. Some are great. The Narutotai (oil can sake) blew me away despite the fact that, according to Tippsy, it was in Bladerunner 2049 (which in my opinion was far inferior to the original). A Ginjo (58% RPR) with a +5 SMV and 1.8% acidity, which would make you think it would taste pretty dry, came across as luscious and maybe even slightly sweet and yet not sweet at the same time. I loved its genshuosity and its namaness, but maybe that was its 18% ABV talking. It paired great with the tonkatsu I made for my Japanese Faves series on my Chef’s Apprentice YouTube channel (see photos of the final dish and the sake at my Instagram @ChefsApprentiveCooklikeAPro), as well as the brownies and homemade chocolate chip cookies that followed. I’d buy this by the case.”
